September 16, 20214 yr To get the correct wind direction in Live Weather, I always have to press the reset button in WorldMap before I plan my flights, otherwise I always get the runways that applied to my previous flights wind direction when I set my departure and arrivals, even though the wind direction has changed, has anyone else noted this? September 16, 20214 yr Kind of related in a beat around the bush sort of way, but did they ever fix the windsock direction pointing opposite of what they should be? James
September 16, 20214 yr even with live weatehr soemtimes i tend to get the forcasted weather and not the actual weather,,, its weird.
September 16, 20214 yr I use the shift-z-stat mod to check wind while at ramp then adjust flight plan. September 17, 20214 yr Neither is a solution to the original post. For those that like to plan from the World Map flight planner just have to do it as the OP suggested for now. James

When I flew the smaller airfields I had basically stopped paying attention to the windsocks because of them being bugged. This post brought them back into my mind. September 18, 20214 yr Where on earth does this thing get its weather from - particularly winds? The wind displayed in the world map can be quite different from the wind that gets inserted once you load the flight. For example currently at YMER on the world map the wind is displayed is 32810KT once in the sim it has the wind at 13007KT which agrees with the current metar. At other times, even from within the sim, the winds can be very different from the current metar. Bruce Bruce Bartlett Frodo: "I wish none of this had happened." September 18, 20214 yr To know the wind actually simulated in the game to select a runway, the only good solution I found is to check it in Little Nav Map. The sim itself is unreliable. September 21, 20214 yr But does this give the wind as depicted in the sim? If you are planning a flight from airport ABC to airport XYZ how do you find out what the sim thinks the winds are at airport XYZ? Bruce Bruce Bartlett Frodo: "I wish none of this had happened."
