i see no performance difference

You should still see the difference in cpu time.

AIUI using ntfs from 1993 also limits performance.

Did you try to reinstall the Linux bootloader?

The most remarkable Win11 change so far is that the beautiful wallpapers are gone. But never mind if that fixes some UEFI malware.

What UEFI malware? Indeed what is UEFI? Oh God, I miss DOS. Life was so simple.😀

so why is sharing the cpu times so hard?

you want me to buy a new hard disk, download copies of windows and xplane, spend who knows how long trying to get them set up and installed, just to get 50fps instead of 250fps in xplane.

And you cant even take two screenshots of software you say you already have installed and paste them into imgur.

You are exaggerating my friend. There is an fps advantage with Linux running XP but it's no more than 10%. But the disadvantages out way the advantages. You can't run essential addons such as XVision and Traffic Global and you can't run most other games which are native to Windows such as MSFS.

What software did I say I have installed ? huh

You are not ready to show a similar windows comparison and you are asking me to post images Hahahaha

You install or don't install Windows that's entirely upto you , so until you do till then don't say a 50% difference, you are showing a one side performance , remember i did say the day i see your 50% is real i will never use X-plane on Windows. prove it simple.

Forget it dude , as I said no point in debating it with you.

Ah you want to see the CPU time difference of Windows / Linux ? well I will post but only after you post a real windows / Linux comparison in performance for X-plane ,  then we take it from there , what say ?

it really depends on display resolution and number of cpu cores.

doing 3x 4k monitors at 8xAA there will be no measurable difference in final fps because its entirely bottlenecked on how fast the gpu can draw that many pixels.

on a 4 core machine the maximum theoretically difference is about 25% assuming xp can make good use of 3 cores on windows.

In all cases the differences between them should be visible in the cpu time figure (how long it takes xp to finish all its calculations and start again)

I came, I saw, I went back to Windows. The disadvantages out way the meagre performance gain.

you said you were dual booting and there was no difference.

Im saying there should be, and it will be in cpu time - which is all that benchmark graph i posted was showing.

Ya so ? there is not much of a difference.

I am out of this discussion. Don't expect anymore replies . be happy with your 50% boost

- Hmm l had Ubuntu installed aside Win10 already some years ago with secure boot and nvidia.-

This post is way obsolete.

- Believe me you don't want to go through the trouble I had three years ago with a UEFI Rootkit trojan.-

If you are gpu limited there would be no difference in f.sim/act fps.

you should still see the difference in cpu time.

Well, if you do run windows, its only to be expected

Could have been worse, you could run windows and had peoples lives depend on it

https://healthitsecurity.com/news/compromised-medical-records-ransomware-attacks-trouble-healthcare

Which should be criminal imho. Secure boot wont change that.

Yes but wasn't the win11 update all about the TPM 2.0?

3 years ago the malware affected all OS. Impossible to guess where it originated as it was invisible for antivirus and was modifiying data for months.🥵

How it gets there hasnt changed and is almost as effective as ever:

Malicious adverts (less prevalent now everyone uses chromium browsers)

cracks/keygens/pirated software

vulnerabilities in microsoft outlook/internet explorer

vulnerabilities in windows services that are almost impossible to turn off like upnp.

vulnerabilities in the networking code of most games.

Somehow to secure things a lot of unsecure things also happens , security is like an elephant.

Personally do not like secure boot / uefi. I do not like my personal to be locked down by someone

I do not know if Nvidia works with secure boot with Linux , AMD GPU is fine.
