Thats why posix devices count in the hundreds of billions, windows phone is long discontinued and active windows pcs count in the millions - the vast majority of which do not support windows 11 and will not support xp12.

You can lay off the FUD.  We're talking about "gaming" / "simulation" platforms ... not IOT cameras on a bookshelf.

I'm sure you realize this, let's not make this even more confusing.

The most popular of which by a mile is still Sonys Playstation and the nintendo switch

We're clearly not porting flight simulation to that platform.  My argument stands.

Ace combat 7 on ps4 was doing 120fps VR flight sim and volumetric clouds years ago.

The most popular games machine by a very very long way is the Ninetendo Switch

Xplane is on 5 million plus pure linux devices via google play. Windows barely has a few hundred thousand.

The most popular platform for xplane 12 is looking like it will be steamos on the steam deck.

Your argument is fundamentally flawed.

you should still see the shorter cpu time.

No point in debating with you .

No problems with Win11 for me. And no better performance than I can detect. In fact I don't know what all the fuss is about as it's a complete anticlimax? Some new fonts and curvy windows seems to be the measure of it.

Hopefully it fixes those retarded UEFI Rootkit trojans. That's my sole reason to update right now.

Windows is a trojan steals more of your data than any virus, ah thats right it is a virus.

Or he backed away when he saw the difference.

The only difference operating system makes to xplane is the number circled red in:

15BAUxa.png

That isn't the only number that makes a difference to frame rate, as per that link in "sneak peaks":

https://developer.x-plane.com/2017/10/x-plane-11-10-beta-5-ding-dong-the-fps-nag-is-gone-mostly/

It is however, generally the limiting factor unless you are at really high resolutions/AA, and also the number driven by how well your CPU is using its cores.

To put it into context, Intel just tried to work around the horrific windows thread scheduler by making a hardware one in its new 12XXX CPU range.

Its better but Linux still demolishes it on AMD with more/equal number of cores.

Or maybe its because once you get over 30 FPS and its smooth honestly who cares. Most users dont care. We know you love linux so create a windows version that the average non pc user can use. This isnt about linux havnt you noticed.

Haha Ya !

don't think that 172 shot is even yours 😁 , you yourself haven't tried the performance but you still insist about a 50% , going with Phoronix test results you claim it is what it is , where I am in real using XP on both and I know what I am doing 😁.

Before you claim the performance difference , please try it yourself first.

Given that the XP experience in Linux is much smoother ,  that's about it. I can guarantee and believe a 10-15% gain.

And from past debate experience with you , I know you will not stop even when you know you are wrong . 😁

Please do the test yourself and then claim .  Also post the link of the Phonorix test suite rather than the shots.

Over and Out.

I think he is trying to tell users that using Linux for XP is better and smoother that I do agree on.

I've seen plenty of windows screenshots & complaints about performance, I was banned from the org for saying I was getting 110fps on my old 2700k. Why on earth would I - would anyone - pay $200+ to experience a 50% drop in performance?

even 10-15% drop is still more than enough reason to not infect my hardware with that junk.

Please try it yourself first before you claim a 50% until then it's nonsense, i guarantee a 10%

And that fps counter should be on full scenery not in the airplane, if I pan the camera to the sky i get a 100 and on scenery 45 hahahah, I think this is where your 50% claim is 😁
