Specifically with regard to X-Plane is there any reason not to uodgrade when Windows 11 is released in a few days time?

IIRC the upgrade from 7 to 10 could be rolled back. That should also be the case for going from 10 to 11, so I wouldn't worry.

Yeah I'm not particularly. But I've yet to read about what this TPM security actually is and what it could effect. Nor have I seen any assurance that all my existing programs will still run.

its basically seems to be windows 10 with a not quite as good mac ui and a load of linux components bundled as default. Previously known as windows 10X

Question is more why would you want to.

I am on Win 11 since it was available, and there was not a single problem with  P3D, X-Plane, and MSFS2020 yet.

Sad thing with windows is that with every update our privacy just goes further down the drain. Mind so the same can be said of every OS.

Indeed. It's a free upgrade so what's the catch I wonder?

Its not really a choice. At some point MS will drop support for Win10 in future.  Running a OS these days without security patch is a very bad idea.

There is no compelling reason to switch to Win 11. They do a little bit of fiddling and say Hey! here is the new version. You need this. Fact is, you don't need that. What you already have is stable and works fine as is. As for the Linux guys, give us a break. They haven't even figured out HDR yet 😂

I suppose it depends on how you look at it, when the vendor is the virus stealing all your data, no patch is ever going to fix that, but than again them wanting all the money from the sale of your data and advertising dont want any other virus to steal it so its up to them to protect your data from everyone else so they have first Dibbs on it.

Nothing is ever free in this world - ever - it all comes at a price, some times staring you in the face.

I'm certainly in no rush to instal it. Too many missing features, There are rumours of slightly better gaming performance though. But there again there always are rumours of better gaming performance.
