Hi-
I used to be able to fly at KSFO but no longer. Loading screen hangs (where you get suggestions on the crawler at the bottom). Here’s what I’ve done.
Removed the Community folder.
Removed both Rolling/Manual cache.
Full repair through Steam interface.
Tried different aircraft.
Other airports work fine.

Any ideas?

I have the same problem at KSFO and other airports like KDEN. This apparently is a known issue -- happens with a number of airports. While a number of 'fixes' have been suggested in the past, I have not found a permanent solution. Hopefully this will be fixed with the next sim update.

Sometimes I wonder about MSFS, what they are doing and not doing, and if this is whole project is ultimately headed for Xbox.

I uninstalled P3D due to disk space. Need to rethink that.

I have kept P3D installed. My main interest is flying IFR procedures since I can no longer fly IFR for real anymore, and P3D does a decent job for that. For one thing, with Active Sky I can set what ever weather I want, at any airport I want, at any time I want. The scenry in MSFS is wonderful, but not particularly important if the weather is always at minimums!   😉

What changed since it last worked (eg. Windows update, anti-virus update, new program or driver)? Can you do a Windows restore? Or an image or backup restore for when it worked?

Or re-install the Steam client? Removed all overclock? Disabled anti-virus? Does the problem exist in other premium airports? Tried running it in Developer mode?

Have any changes been made manually to any config files?

It's a bit strange that this only occurs at a single airport. I have to confess that at some point after SU5, I uninstalled MSFS and reinstalled from scratch. My experience changed from constant CTDs to flawless. Also I have pulled back from running my puny 1080 near 90% to something closer to 50%. Vsync is set to 30, and my i7-7700K is no longer overclocked. 

This is a very complex piece of software......

Yesterday I kept getting CTDs when I tried to spawn into EDDM Munich for the MSFS fly-in.

It turned out to be nothing related to aircraft or airport, but was a flight plan conflict between the PLN file provided and my Navigraph mod.

Agreed.

However, what I’m giving up (hundreds of dollars of aircraft and scenery that work flawlessly in 5.1) versus pretty scenery, lessons, missions and discovery flights that are of no value for me. What I’m giving up for what I get simply isn’t worth it. As mentioned above, frickin’ KSFO doesn’t even load. ‘There working on that in the next update.’ 😂

I’m reinstalling 4.5 and 5.1 as we speak ( I use both). All my A2A planes, my Lear and 750GTN soon to be back in their stable. Oh yeah, I almost forgot my FlightBeam airports that aren’t subject to any updates. 😎

Mark, perhaps I should have added that KSFO loaded fine for me and I believe many others. I've been reading this forum for over a year now, and failure to add specific airports hasn't risen to the level of common problem.

No need to uninstall anything.. I still have P3DV5.1. installed, complete with Orbx scenery and a2a airplanes..

I just find that I am flying MSFS 90+% of the time..

You uninstalled P3D.. but as you say, you can reinstall it.. 🙂

It’s kind of like that old VHS library that I used to have.  Bought a ton of movies, several VHS decks - was a decent cash outlay.  I’m sure if I hooked it up to my tv I could watch them without issue and without having to remember which frighten streaming service I’m trying to find.
