Use AdonLinker instead, it will save you from lot of gray hair.

I'm looking into that one, but as far as I can tell, AddonLinker works fine if you can choose your installation folder. However, some addons - the JustFlight Arrows, for example - simply install into the Community folder without offering to let you choose an alternative, and I don't know how I could override that.

Is there any need to? Just move out of community folder into your linker_community folder.

When I try to do that I get a message saying "Your organisation does not allow you to place this file here". I've tried every cure for this that I've found through Google, but no success so far.

These types of issues are so infuriating - I have all the Just Flight Arrows and moved them no issue!

Same here, that is why I allow JustFLight and a few others to install into the Community folder and leave it there.

Hello @Muklum and others, haven't read the full thread so not sure if this was already mentioned.

Unfortunately that's a known issue for some users (i guess you have the MS Store version). The community folder, if you leave it to its default location during the install, is a protected folder by the operating system, files put there get some special permissions and if moved around they won't work. It's very frustrating, i've never experienced that myself and most users don't have that issue, but i have gotten numerous report about it so it's certainly quite common.

An idea that was posted in this forum (can't remember by who and i can't find that thread so i can't give proper credits), was to create a ZIP file outside of the original folder. For example, with free and fantastic 7Zip you can select your addon folder and create a zip in another normal folder (do not create the zip in the community folder because that would probably not cure the issue). See pic below for an example

As you can see in the pic below, i select an addon in the real community folder and zip in another folder, then you would unzip that file in your custom folder manager by Addons Linker.

Obivously if the solution above don't work you might have to redownload your addon again, but maybe worth a try.

Let us know if you find a solution, quite a few poeple have that prob and i would be very happy if something would really fix it 🍺

Yup, I posted that a while back - works just fine - you can put files/folders into Community and you can delete them but you cannot copy them.  Just zip them up and delete the originals.

Thank you, Bad_T and vgbaron. That worked.
