October 21, 20214 yr What exactly DX12 is going to be? What are the expected advantages of using it? I remember DX10 preview in FSX didn't do much good until the Steve DX10 scenery fixer fixed it a lot. Edited October 21, 20214 yr by Capt Timeter
October 21, 20214 yr A lot depends on how Asobo implements DirectX 12 within the sim. Don't delete the folder manually or the sim will try and reinstall it, only do it through the content manager. Edited October 21, 20214 yr by Tuskin38

I tried to uninstall the Pitts and the sim immediately downloaded and reinstalled it back on the next launch reprimanding me for uninstalling mandatory content.

November 6, 20214 yr If the PC version of MSFS will only utilize DX12 as a wrapper at first then I wonder if the Xbox version currently only uses DX12 as a wrapper for DX11 too or does the Xbox version actually have elements of DX12 properly integrated? If so, maybe we'll see the same or similar basic elements implemented from day one on the PC. Otherwise how else does the Xbox keep a constant 30fps and smooth in the heaviest areas?

Dynamic resolution scaling, low LOD, objects and terrain detail drawn only for a portion of the FOV at a time (the one you're looking at). Do you remember SU5 before the hotfix, with trees and buildings popping in as you turned your head? Well, the XBox is stuck with that. 7800X3D | 2x32 GB DDR5-6000 CL32 | RTX 5080 | Alienware OLED 34" | 1 Gbps fiber
