SU6 pretty much makes it obvious....

I have loved every minute since August 2020 with this Sim

While I'm glad we've had it for over a year, I can't agree with this. It's been a year of the agony and the ecstasy. And more agony and frustration than ecstacy. But, with this update and the apparent return of (at least some) live traffic, I do agree that today, we're finally firing on all cylinders.

....that (in my opinion, other's mileage may vary...)  MSFS was truly a year too early, to really be released as a pretty much now, non-Alpha/Beta incarnation.   Had MSFS been RTM'ed in its present incarnation (SU6) ,   features, deployment, PERFORMANCE on pretty much anybody's current system, it would have been a virtual Flight Simulation 'Tsunami'....

Yes, we had great visuals at launch, the first RTM version, before ANY update,  but that came at a very high system resource cost for many, including myself.  There was no way I could approach Ultra Settings at that time.  I had to run Medium to get something near 25-30 FPS.

Today?  The word 'performance' doesn't even cross my mind.  It's there...every flight...at Ultra (Plus) with SU6.

I believe that MSFS was released perhaps one year too early,  and that it should have been in  serious multi-Beta versions (as we pretty much all went through, with frustration to boot!) before actual launch.

...as I came off a spectacular flight today...just ended minutes ago...the above thoughts crossed my mind.

Today, right now...MSFS is one SO VERY satisfying flight simulator,  and yes, still with bugs,  still needing to be swatted,  but not enough of them, or large enough any longer,  that you can't see past them out the 'windshield' of SU6....

SU6 is in my opinion, the true RTM of MSFS.  Truly...

Spare a thought for those owners of msfs2020 who have been left with an unusable product following various updates that freeze the software when launching a flight.  To me, SU5 and SU6 has been a disaster, ruining a perfectly working sim beforehand.

the obvious last-second rush to market was a clear sign that we were going to pay to be beta testers

I always felt like I was a paying beta tester for P3D--with the main difference being I coughed up $200 every two years for absolutely paltry progress save the port to 64-bit in V4.  Beyond glad I held off on V5 for MSFS.

That's all great unless you fly the Longitude and the TBM (alarm you can't shut off tied to the parking brake).😶

Well let's see this is where you become creative until Asobo gets around to fixing it and you full well know they will:  release the parking break 🤣

Exactly like what I did too saving myself from a lot of grief dealing with compatibility issues with add-ons.

Hardware: i7-8700k, GTX 1070-ti, 32GB ram, NVMe/SSD drives with lots of free space.
Software: latest Windows 10 Pro, P3Dv4.5+, FSX Steam, and lots of addons (100+ mostly Orbx stuff).

Doesn't work that way in the Longitude.  You have to turn the engines on first then release the parking brake.  It's annoying to say the least outside of turning down all warning sounds.

From the beginning over a year ago it's like the Longitude has been the baldheaded stepchild on the Asobo agenda.  it's taken third party modders to address most of the issues with the bird.  We've had otherwise great updates to the sim but they left the Longitude in some cases bouncing up and down in the air, rolling left/right at altitudes over 30,000ft, and silence from Asobo in response to the many requests to address the bird on a few other issues.  So here we are with the amazing SU6 in many users eyes and broken features in the same suspect aircraft that many of us paid for the Premium package to get.  I understand you can't please everyone but the more popular TBM is affected this time around as well.  I for one like others feel this is a good update but like always something totally unrelated to the fix list get's broke.  I figured a hotfix would be released but it's looking like that might not be the case.  Like I always do I find something else to fly. I just wish the Longitude would get some real TLC for the bugs (stop making new ones), get the HUD working, and model the cabin.  At least my other favorite was finally addressed in SU5 and that was the Cirrus.  Performance and a flight model update is what was needed and it was only enhanced with the default flight model work done in SU6.  Hoping the same can be done in the future with the Longitude.

I understand Dillon just joshing.  I only use the Longitude, TBM and most recently the B787 HD.  It's a massive WIP and just know you can expect issues here and there, but as most all will concur the trajectory is for continual net improvement and that is where to focus attention on, lest be bothered by hiccoughs like your describing along the way.  If you're going to bring up cost, presumably P3D was never part of your portfolio.  For core sim I paid $600 over 8 years or so and got almost squat for it, compared to the absolute marvel we have in MSFS already, 1.2y out of the gate.  When I think about what little changed in P3D from V1 to V2 to V3 I have to recoil when I hear complaints about what came and continues to bloom in WU's w/ MSFS for $119.  If money is a concern hopefully you haven't spent a dime on 'add-ons' where bang for buck pales in comparison to the core sim.

Has this changed recently? I haven't flown the Longitude after SU6 yet, but previous to that if you hit the MC button it'd shut off the audible alarm.

Just so I'm on the same page, where is this 'MC Button' your referring to?

Above the pilot's MFD, you'll see a red and an orange button. One is master caution, the other is master warning. Each turns off certain alarms.

With so many other's having a successful SU6 update, might it be system specific, the problems you are unfortunately experiencing?   I hope you get it sorted out.  For myself, (as we can only 'speak' for ourselves,) it has been a performance and eye-candy knock-out! Hope it becomes one for yourself!

Those Dillon are of course the bugs still buzzing around the cockpit..with your flyswatter taking swipes, lol...but they will be struck down...but the entire sim 'et all' is simply fabulous now...again, my personal opinion in play.

I figured that's what you were talking about.  Those buttons don't work to stop the alarm in the cockpit when you first turn on the power.
