In this case what I do is just set the date to Oct 31, then set Nov 1 and the time in Active Sky so I still get the actual weather for the date of the flight. Dave Yeah. That's more or less what I was doing. The Season Manager seems more accurate and simpler. I think now I can fly in real time with both live weather and correct seasons on the actual date. And so much easier to do. November 5, 20214 yr There is only one problem with it (and other season updates): For some airports, the season, and thus the used ground textures, are hard-coded to match the OEM scenery. They would stick out like a sore thumb. The Season Manager a.f.a.I.k. works around it by creating an area around such an airport to match it's (uncorrected) season. November 6, 20214 yr One question: As far as the installers are concerned, are they now updated for v5? The web page shows what I assume are old screenshots of older P3D versions whereas the info in the forums suggests there is now support for v5. Is there a v5 sim option now included in the installer or you just select P3Dv4 and point the path to your main P3Dv5 sim folder? I can confirm it has the V5 option in the setup already sn everything, from install to first run worked flawless. It seem it does what its made for very well, because i have no snow on the ground in Germany with actual realtime. Usually P3D would show snow on the ground in Europe region from November on. My personal vote for this tool: must have if you like flying with realtime an -season settings. November 7, 20214 yr I was in army sky team in training at Oberjoch Germany December 68 no snow had to drive to Austria and the top of Zugspitze mountain to find snow, the alps were bare of snow snow came in January, global warming in 68 all snow would be gone by 2000. December 31, 20214 yr Author Meanwhile, I also purchased the Season Manager. I think it's a step into the right direction but it's not perfect. For one, snow map isn't always that accurate. Yesterday, I flew into Nice, France and had snow all over the place with 15deg C OAT. It matched the online snow map, but I don't think there's actually snow in Nice right now. The other issue I have is with several add on airports that (although I added them into the Manager) won't respect the season that the Season Manager sets for this area and will still show snow on and around the airport. Looks a bit silly. I don't know how to fix this, done everything the manual suggests, waited 24h, no effect. SimElite's Support doesn't respond. I will keep it on, but I think it's a one time buy for me.

So I don't know how well the Season Manager will work in these conditions. But from what I gather, the Manager works around that by creating a zone around those airports, configured to standard season settings, so that it isn't all too conspicuous. Well, whatever it‘s trying to do to work around it, it’s not working…

I don't recognize the second airport, but the first one looks like sim-wings EDDM / Munich. There's a configuration manager that comes with the scenery and if you open it, there's an option like "Use FTX GES Seasons" (I think it's originally there because there are people who have ORBX Germany South installed and others who don't.. ) which can be turned on and off. Have you tried playing around with it, disabling/enabling it and look what happens? Maybe this helps 🙂 Edited December 31, 20214 yr by roesti

The second one is JustSim's EDDC, which has no config tool whatsoever...

You enter the airport and the regions around the airport will become snowy too (technically they assume the default seasons). Not sure if that happened in the pics above, because the region around the airport with snow should be much bigger. You obviously did not use the exclusion option correctly. If you do NOT want snow there you have to use the configuration tool for your addon scenery or edit some script files; the season manager cannot access third party scenery since they come with their own texture set. I agree however with your notion of "too much snow". Their snow map seems to read snow from high mountains (like the alps around Nice) and consequently puts the whole region into snow. Could be weakness of P3D, though. For transparency: I'm a community mentor at the BATC discord. However, I do not get paid for it in any way.

There's not much to do "wrong" here.... Under "Airports" I added the ones I felt were not represented correctly, such as EDDM. I waited 24h, then it looked as shown above. _ But I understand that the areas that are set by the add on itself maybe can't be influenced/changed by the Manager. Since SimWings doesn'T offer a season switch like others do, I guess I'm stuck with a white Munich airport for the duration of the winter....

My solution when seasons annoy me with stuff like this, is just set the simulator date/time to some different day where everything looks okay. But I realize that this isn't an acceptable option for everybody 🤪
