Clouds texture not quite right

Featured Replies

Hello, I thought I had my sim looking real good, but apparently I don't.  It does run great though!  So, just wondering if someone can point me to the correct setting in MSFS or nVidia that can make the weird texture issue a little better please.  Also, other aircraft lights and lights on the ground appear to be squares almost look like big pixels, maybe the two issues are related.  I'm sure someone will ask my specs so.  AMD 5600X, RTX3070, 32MB RAM, 2 TB SSD  Picture attached.  Thank so much in advance.

P.S. couldn't figure out how to insert an image here so put a link.

Look great here, specs in sig.. infact i'd say they are better now than anytime before.

AMD Ryzen 7 5800x3d, MSI X570 Pro, 32 gb DDR4 3600 ram, Gigabyte 6800 16gb GPU, 1x 2tb Samsung  NvMe , 1x 2tb Sabrent NvME, 1x Crucial 4tb Nvme M2 Drive

Looks just fine to me .

Jeff,

it is "state of the art" currently. As far as I know this will perhaps be better with upcoming DX12.

I have the same pixelations as you

They aren't textures. It's all particles and particle physics. I think what they've achieved with clouds is astonishing, but also limited by current technology.

Having said this, I have noticed less "blockiness" within the clouds since turning off AA gamma correction in NVIDIA Control Panel... Could be coincidence. Still not sure.

Sorry, but this seems like a very minor thing to me and in motion flying a plane I can't believe I would ever notice that, which doesn't look all that bad anyway.

Just my opinion, nothing personal.

My sharpening is set to 0 and my clouds look awful.  The clouds layer and morph quickly and flicker and when turning I get horrible moiré patterns. The graininess' is getting worse and there are now repeating cloud patterns like P3D when there is low level stratus.  Not great.
