New nvidia settings just released

Recommended Posts

I just tested it with 85% and the default 50 for sharpen and I have a 3 FPS increase (42 to 45) but I also noticed a small image degradation. The panels are not as sharp as before.

My monitor is 1920x1080 and I'm using the 1632x918 resolution.

Guess I'll go back because the 3 FPS increase isn't worth the image degradation.

The 1632x918 setting is from in game menu?

are you using any render scaling? Asking cause I’m troubleshooting my monitor settings

His 1632x918 setting will appear in MSFS settings after render scaling is turned on.  When that resolution is chosen from in game, render scaling is in use.

Yes, from in-game menu. Render scaling 100.

Works as advertised in 2D, after you jump through a few hoops.

Does nothing in VR.  It does its thing on the primary monitor only.

Oh well.

Yes. Best to pick your lower in game screen resolution and then keep the in game render scaling to 100%, or it will be two systems trying to do the same thing and the performance gain and image quality might not be so good.

I intend to try 2k scaled to 4k and see how it goes.  I have found that the look of the G1000NXi is a good test, as the text looks a bit fuzzy if you go too far and you can pick up on this immediately.

Call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind, but I prefer Rob.

I like to trick airline passengers into thinking I have my own swimming pool in my back yard by painting a large blue rectangle on my patio.

I always got far better results setting the sim resolution to 4K and render scaling DOWN, rather than setting the sim resolution lower and then render scaling UP.

Yeah, that's where I immediately noticed the image degradation, it looked a bit fuzzy. Went back to my regular settings and it's much better.

If I'm not mistaken MSFS needs to be NVIDIA DLSS capable which it is not maybe when DX12 is implemented and DLSS for now its not that usable over sharpened and weird lighting when panning (also your desktop is affected by the sharpening also) - that said last driver was pos - this one is excellent from what I'm seeing visually

I just happened to load this new driver new nothing tonight before seeing this post - nice driver so far

This particular driver feature works independently of DLSS.

I still set the sharpen option in the config file to 0 and use the adaptative sharpening filter from reshade, it gives me the best results and less shimmering. But i will give it a try, thank you.
