New nvidia settings just released

Recommended Posts

New driver with:-

NVIDIA Control Panel > Manage 3D Settings • Added Image Scaling control to boost application frame rates and increase the level of sharpness, detail, or clarity of images in games and applications.

It will be interesting to try these new features out in MSFS…

Alongside our DLSS updates, we’ve today released our latest GeForce Game Ready Driver, which includes an update to the NVIDIA Image Scaling feature, improving our spatial upscaling and sharpening algorithm that supports all GeForce GPUs and games.

Here’s how to use it:-

I’m reading on Reddit that they’ve taken Sharpening away; off to work now so can’t confirm for a while but if so, hope this works as well.

Some Folks over the msfs forums saying they’re getting 7fps extra with the 85% option and no visual degradation.

I can’t test until tomorrow now.

I have installed the new driver, turned on image scaling with 50 percent sharpening.  Looks Good at 85 percent scaling.

So sharpening is still available?

Yes.  Image scaling turned on under NVCP Global Settings with sharpening amount set for all games.  In program settings there is an individual sharpening setting for MSFS.

Results are very good at 85% where I gained about 6fps. The image is slightly softer though but very good.

So we can't enable the scaling just for MSFS?

The setting itself is global, but that just gives you the option in game to render at lower resolutions - you can still set your native resolution in game if you want.
