August 22, 20223 yr I've just been trying PSXT and RealTraffic for a day or so, and on the one hand it's fantastic. On the other hand it also completely destroys my FPS at larger airports. : ) I'm running a PC with Intel i7-11700KF and RTX3080. I have my sim set to 36 fps max, which I am able to achieve most of the time with my current graphics settings. But using PSXT+RealTraffic on larger airports effectively cuts my FPS in half. I don't see any settings to reduce the amount if AI traffic displayed in the sim. Any suggestions? Thanks!

August 22, 20223 yr sorry I can't help with the question here, but I spent some time over the weekend setting up RT, PSXT and AIG and wanted to drop in and say this has absolutely blown me away of course it's not for everyone, i.e. multiplayer and ATC interaction, but it is amazingly accurate and realistic - I spent time downloading all the liveries of the airlines that use Heathrow and then just watched as they all taxied to the hold, took off in turns, all displaying accurate liveries and aircraft types - I live close enough to listen to all the airfield frequencies at Heathrow and it's really quite incredible to see it all reproduced so accurately in the sim. there is of course the slight 30 second delay or whatever it is, but if you aren't listening to live ATC you'd never notice once I got around to flying, I just found an aircraft in the queue and blocked it in the PSXT interface then took it's place, then sort of guessed when it was my turn - amazing job, great addon

How do you limit the amount of parked aircraft? Only limiting options I see is the nautical range limiter and % park, but the latter doesn't really limit the amount of parked aircraft if they are picked up by RealTraffic?

The PSXT aircraft are not "ai aircraft" but airplane objects that are repositioned by PSXT 30 times per second based on real time data. The static parked aircraft are airplane objects too. And if it would work it would disturb PSXT's bookkeeping, so, never use traffic limiters and PSXT. However, it is quite easy to limit the number of static parked aircraft with the park %. Parked live aircraft cannot be removed of course, that is the goal of the program, to show you a real live airport 😉 Nico Edited August 22, 20223 yr by kiek

It's sad because this tool is so great, but I cannot use it at major airports unless I basically set all GFX settings to low. A simple traffic limiter would be such a simple solution so at least one can run this sim on Medium settings. : )

There is currently a way to limit the number of aircraft PSXT displays at the gates. It would be great to have a way to set a cap on the number of 'active' aircraft as well. So, for instance once X number of aircraft are actively moving about don't inject anymore until some have parked or taken off. It would really help at the larger airports. PSXT gives you the option of limiting the radius of which airplanes are displayed, default is set to 40NM from the airplane I believe. In places with a lot of high density airports close to each other, try setting the radius to 10NM or so and see if it improves your fps.

Thanks, Mark Hi Mark, Point taken, although I'm happy with 30 fps, why do you need more in a Simulator? I'll add a max parked live aircraft parameter. If the max has been reached I'll remove the aircraft with the longest parking time. Do know that already now heavy live aircraft do not stay parked more then 3 hours and the other aircraft 2 hours. I could reduce these numbers too....? However, It would be nice if they are still at the gate when they start the next (return) flight. Nico Edited August 22, 20223 yr by kiek

I have no experience with other packages. You would hope that with any of them there would be a way of controlling he number generated. Ray (Cheshire, England).
