Hi. sorry allready if its a stupid Q but when i select real live weather in the map prior to loading the flight i dont get the weather selection features . The option is greyed out in the custom toolbar in flight.

 

I recall some showing the METAR via this menu ?

Quess i am the only one ? :-)

My weather icon is greyed out when using live weather from map/flightplan - wasnt we allowed to change this in flight ?

Hi

Are you using Unreal Weather Mod ? It is corrupting the native weather system after SU7. Maybe this helps.

no i am not - can you change the weather on the go ?

What did you pick for the time of the flight? I think the 2 options are related. I ran into what you are seeing before where I couldn't set weather options. I THINK I fixed it by changing the time or date before trying to change the weather.

Oh, I see... You are trying to change it after you started the flight. Sometimes it won't let you do that. 

Try setting your weather before starting the flight by clicking on the flight conditions icon right above navigation log on the flight planner screen.

Try starting a flight from there with custom time/date/weather and then see if it will let you change it from the flying v.

Are you using any UI mods, meaning Shift-Z-Stats or something that changes the look of the menus? If so, remove them and see if it helps.

When it comes to changing weather, the option is always gone if you start your flight with real weather, or at least it is for me. If I want to change weather during the flight, I have to start with a preset or custom weather.

Hmmm... Started my flight with live weather active. Currently flying at FL330. I can bring up the weather dialogue and turn off live weather, then select any preset. I can also turn live weather back on. Not seeing any issue.

I do note that the way to change it is slightly different than pre-SU7. Now, one must move the "slider" that is on the right, just above the box that says "Live Weather" (with the "Metar" button just below). That turns off live weather and switches to a preset. The same "slider" turns live weather back on.

I haven't figured out the rules for when you get the option to change weather during a flight. Sometimes I have it. Sometimes I don't. A user manual would have been helpful... 

When I want to change OnLine weather during flight to offline, I just go to the drop down menu, weather, and switch Live weather Blue toggle Off.
