I can see where you are coming from with your hypothesis, but things have really moved on and the DirectX Box is much much closer to a PC than ever before.

Rudii. Thank you for that explanation.  Appreciated!

Give the user choice of two+ options:

  1. The ability to set minimum and maximum haze density, per user preference regardless of outside RW conditions, or....
  2. Best match to METAR.

One could actually still choose to match METAR, but within min/max values <<<< this *should* make all but the most impossible to please users happy.

This is good.

So basically, this is what we have in ActiveSky.  Min and Max vis can be set for both low level and high level, regardless of the METAR.

Hi there,

Flown SYD-MEL-ADL today, now on my way from ADL to CBR, no issues with the FBW A320 between FL 300 to FL370.

Maybe the issue is localised?

Yes indeed I remember it.  It's the easy part to pull off I'm sure and hopefully Asobo will opt for something along these lines. I, for one, may trade in real/actual, for nicer to look at and fly thru, at least to a degree.  So the 3rd option of looking at the METAR,but limiting the range per user preference seems like the best of all worlds, real and hoped for
