It's possible they touched up the responsiveness of the weather server from their side, but they haven't fixed the cloud issue. I have seen clouds touching the ground on my flights today, so it makes sense they haven't touched that yet. Thanks for the link.

That looks like a VV of around 003 (300 feet). AMD 9950X3D | 64 GB RAM | RTX 5090 FMR: 747 FO, 757/767 CAPT, 737 Check Airman Current 777 CAPT
November 30, 20214 yr Something did definitely change with the weather though. I was getting updrafts and downdrafts in CBs for the first time ever. But the METAR was off with regards to the Altimeter. Actual was reporting 28.87 when the sim was showing 29.05 AMD 9950X3D | 64 GB RAM | RTX 5090 FMR: 747 FO, 757/767 CAPT, 737 Check Airman Current 777 CAPT

It is possible, but low visibility with a clear sky above is much more characteristic of a low hugging level of fog, ground fog or GF. "Visibility that low with a clear sky above could be a layer of smoke that has drifted in from say a forest fire, but smoke closer to the scene of the fire would normally obscure the sky. If the temp and dewpoints were reported correctly by ATIS the relative humidity could easily be calculated. helping to confirm whether fog or haze. Perhaps that's the issue..... the well known MSFS DP bug! All in all, all this haze is highly unrealistic, or is it lowly????? November 30, 20214 yr For what it's worth, I did have a look at few airports in Texas this afternoon where I had seen a lot of "phantom" fog/haze last week. The METARs all showed 10 sm CLR skies, and they pretty much displayed that today. The weather depiction does seem to take that "10 sm" literally, so there is some haze in the distance that seems appropriate for that level of visibility. As I said, for what it's worth...... November 30, 20214 yr Author So, I'm undertaking another flight. 22:20 in the UK, so I'm flying around Seattle in daylight. A place I've flown around over the past week or so and had no live weather for several days; and, when I did have live weather to begin with, post-SU7, weather abruptly transitioned from clear skies on the runway, then clouds "popped" in around the airplane while climbing and travelling away from the airport. Thankfully, just like this morning and this afternoon, I still have live weather, and the weather from ground to sky and away from the airport is seamless. Also, again, no haze/fog completely smothering the landscape. So, it's still good news for me, so far. Some clouds are still kissing the ground, but I'll take the current improvements over what I've had in recent times. Tomorrow is another day... Let's wait and see. I remain hopeful. November 30, 20214 yr Just loaded up a flight at Santa Monica airport, less than 4 miles from my house and it's a soupy haze. Looking out my window, it's clear. So, I don't think anything was changed.

So, I don't think anything was changed. The focus of my topic, though, is more to do with two key areas that have definitely changed for me: 1) Live weather hasn't been working at all for the past week or so, but now it is; 2) Weather was abruptly changing during flight, usually from clear skies on the ground to clouds abruptly appearing when in the air and travelling away from the airport. Now weather is seamless like it was pre-SU7. I know others have been having these same two issues, so I really wanted to know if those people are seeing the same apparent fixes as me as of today. Haze is still more of a variable, so I don't think that has changed much in every location, at least. Edited November 30, 20214 yr by March Hare
