Live Weather Updated Today?

Featured Replies

DFW right now in Live Weather.  Same haze and restricted visibility since SU7.  METAR at DFW and all other airports around the area reporting VIS 10SM (which in the USA means VIS is 10 miles or greater).  In real life out my window 9 miles from DFW I can see 25+ miles and there's no haze around.  View above the airport and ground level view where you can see the tower is being restricted by visibility less than a mile away.

Server side changes could well be a factor and perhaps have an effect on Live Weather, the fact a tiny Steam update occurred is purely coincidental I think.

Agree, probably some server changes, we have seen this happen before, both for Live Weather and Live Traffic.

Correct me if am wrong, live weather I remember reading is 2 hours behind and "live" METAR can be anything from 10 mins to 2 hours old.

If there was an update, a simple communication on the official forums would not have gone amiss, just to let us know, for the removal of doubt.

I think it's pretty clear Asobo isn't driven by the emotional reactions of a few or even a lot of users.  They full well know you'll be back, perhaps kicking and screaming--not you in particular, users in general.  They know MSFS is so good they won't lose a whole lot of the market because of transient hiccoughs.

hmm, while wheather per se is definitely nice for me I just noticed that the contrails improved, much more detailed now than before or just placebo? just now enroute into KFJK w/ traffic picking obviously up:

Once the Metar integration is sorted (my guess is that could take some time) we should have the best weather solution ever in a flight sim.

Is the real weather promised as the promised real traffic?

Careful, you're going to attract the scorn of the cheerleading crowd.😄

No complaints here and personally I enjoy watching others wallow in self pity. 😉

How happy makes me telling the true.

You keep saying this, but we got what they promised. There was a pre-release video that talked about live traffic briefly. We got what they showed there.

To hopefully get this topic on track, the following are the two main and definite improvements I have seen today:

1) I, like at least some others, have had no live weather for countless days. I now have live weather again;

2) At least some, if not all, of us have reported abrupt transitions between weather, e.g. clear skies on the ground, at airports, then clouds suddenly appearing when flying away from the airports. I no longer see these transitions; it's behaved seamlessly, the way it did pre-SU7.

So, if anyone has been experiencing these specific issues, have you found them resolved today?

I'm going to try and find time for one more flight late tonight and see if the apparent fixes are still present for me.

Well based on this post, they haven't touched anything yet regarding incorrect cloud height.

It's possible they touched up the responsiveness of the weather server from their side, but they haven't fixed the cloud issue.
