Featured Replies

Anyone having trouble installing CS767? I run the installer, pick I bought from MS Store, it says it installs successfully, it is in the communty folder, but it doesnt show up tp select.

I am installing with ALL virus protection off too.

It’s your computer trying to tell you that you made a mistake buying it in the first place.

On a serious note, do you have any specific categories accidentally ticked on your aircraft selection screen that might be hiding it?

I hear ya...but with no big Boeings on the immediate horizon, I figured for $30 Id give it a shot..... No all AC are selected to be shown.

I had trouble buying/downloading when I was opening the simulator as an administrator. Don't know if thats what you're doing, but if so, give that a try.

Also you might try going into Developer Mode and then seeing if the airplane is in the aircraft selection dev MENU (not the regular aircraft selection screen).

Any luck with your install?

No luck yet, but I haven't tried the dev mode suggestion mentioned above yet. Thank you for asking.

Could anyone who has this successfully installed tell me the correct file structure? For me, it came in as:

Community\captainsim-aircraft-m764 with subdirectories of Captain Sim, Effects, and Sim Objects. as well as a few other files.

Thanks,

Dave

Good idea!   I love that feature when I'm painting, I can quickly switch planes...and its "supposed" to reload the textures so I check my work.  In the old days of MSFS, it used to work almost every time....since all the updates, if you're lucky...changing models several times, then go thru several liveries, and it "may" reload the textures you're painting. 🤔

I don't have the package, but that sounds about right.  In the SimObjects folder, you should have an "Airplanes" subfolder, and in that...all the liveries for the plane...folder names prefixed with "texture.XXX" with the XXX being the livery.  In the .Texture folder you should have a bunch of files....if not...you may have models, but no textures.  I've seen some installs that went bad do this.  I'd follow the steps on CS's website for an uninstall/reinstall (A sticky pinned to the top of the forum).

Are you using a addon manager app to link folders to your Community folder?  And if so, did the same with this plane?  I'd follow their install suggestions if so....not sure how they coded their install package and JSON's to react to symbolic file links.
