Legacy sims dead? Orbx...is getting pounded right now...

I'm trying to download and install my last hold out...T.E. Southern California...and Central keeps saying that connection is interrupted.   Yeah...P3D, FSX,  yeah...they are dying for lack of users....LOLOLOLOLOLOL!   Yeah...tell that to my attempt to download during the 40% off sale as I type...yeah...user base dying...

I wouldn't say it's fair to judge sales based on download speed.  They could just be having server issues.  But who knows.

Judging the supposed state of a sim based on the download speed of ONE vendor ( which might or might not have problems on his own, or you might have routing problems on your end, or firewall issues, or DNS issues, or caching issues ) really doesn't make any sense.

Also because, it can be so easily reversed as in:

- Because of the increased amount of users brought in by MSFS, a server which used to work fine by serving "just" FSX/P3D files in the past, now can't keep it up anymore and might require an update, which wouldn't have been necessary, if MSFS never came out...

See how easy to make *another* nonsensical assumption ( mine ) sound "reasonable" ?

So no, download speed of just one vendor is not really telling anything about the "state" of a sim.

I purchased the P3Dv4 versions of ESGG Gothenburg Landvetter and ESMS Malmo on Friday, and the download speed for both of them dropped to 300-400K per second, and in fact dropped to a quite pathetic 20K per second two or three times during the ESGG installation process. My connection is good for 8.5MB per second.

Come on.  We all know Orbx is slammed because of MSFS 2020 downloads.

Yes.  I'm joking.

Also, can we give a little recognition to Sesquashtoo for the most click-bait crown-worthy thread titles.

Yep...nothing changed...the last of my 4 T.E. purhcases later on in the morning went into the weeds. I checked my ISP, and I am just below 1 GB download...at 947 ...so it is coming from Orbx...and honestly, I only was having a sense of humor quip as I was waiting for all four titles to download and install.  But, do I think that people are raiding Orbx right now. Yes...I sure do...and especially with the 40 percent sale. 😉   People need to read with humor..and not squeeze the panties tight... 😉

And yes -- people really do have too much time on their hands.  Apparently, me too.  🙃

I guess that I should really get with the forum flavor...just tag others with this and that...you know...calling Chapstick...spewing SPAM...go and find this picture...and plaster it each time I see him come up...you know, I guess I should really start getting with the forum program.  I never have...never...but I see, that this is a most accepted practice, which is actively approved and encouraged by other member's heart icons...   Yeah, I should start posting sarcastic attack posts...and join right in...when you can't be different by em...just join 'em...   Ok...will start doing that...and will fit right in... 🙂   I can shove right out there in posts, just a well as Chapstick, I have a keyboard...but I have to slightly modify my personality, and will work on that now...

Cheers,

"C'mon Chappy,  let's tit for tat...what do you say?  Right now, you are a few posts up on me...!!!" 😉
