"Increase view distance" in external view?

Anyone remember this really useful funcion in all previous FS installments that for some reason was totally abandoned in the MSFS camera system? 😉
Is there any tweak/tool to get it back?

Also i dont really quite get the way the MSFS camera system works. I set up the pan/mouse cursor switch in cockpit view in a similar way i did with FSX/Chaseplane before, but if I zoomed in and then switch to mouse cursor again, to actually operate my instruments, the zoom resets itself. Kind of annoying.

You can use the drone camera and fix it to the plane. This works very nicely just as you want. It allows circling around the plane, going up or down and increasing the distance. The fix will be remembered for each time you use the drone camera. It can be set by a key stroke.

At this point I'm convinced we'll never get a true answer, that pertains to the actual issue .😒

Asus Maximus X Hero Z370/ Windows 10
MSI Gaming X 1080Ti (2100 mhz OC Watercooled)
8700k (4.7ghz OC Watercooled)
32GB DDR4 3000 Ram
500GB SAMSUNG 860 EVO SERIES SSD M.2

Just a reminder, after all the flack, that the "issue" is just the desire for the useful Ctrl and + and Ctrl and -
which moved the eyepoint away from and towards the aircraft in spot view without altering the zoom level
in FSX and P3D.
It is a simple concept that seems to be difficult to understand for advocates of workarounds and similarities
that do not do what the "issue" is asking for.

I understand what is being asked for. I just don't see it as a big deal, though I understand that for you and some others, it is. I was an FSX user for 15 years -- it was a fantastic flight sim for its time -- but it was apparent as soon as I switched to MSFS that this was an entirely new sim, not a new edition of FSX, and that I had to become accustomed to doing some things differently. I hope your wishes can be implemented in MSFS at some point, but I doubt anyone in this forum can make that happen.

It has been requested at the FS forum as well and blanked.

Given that it is now two years and three months since that topic was opened, it looks like Asobo share your point of view.
Nothing about any home PC flight simulator is life-changing but in this context, some things are important enough to be considered and not disparaged.

I think I answered to this thread already mentioning that you can get the circling effect in drone mode. I forgot to say that the controls don't work in drone mode, however. Thus, I strongly support the wish of the OP.

I truly believe we'll only get this feature if a 3rd party developer, like FSRealistic, does it for us.

@FSRealistic Any chance you can throw this one on your radar? Your walk mode is fantastic; the ability to translate closer or away from the aircraft in external view would be cool too.

They do by pressing the C-key.

What is your C-key bound to. Mine shows the checklist.

I did not bind it. Maybe it changes function when in drone camera?

For almost two years I did not use MS2020 because I cannot change the distance .....etc. ertc.

There are some quite stubborn, stupid developers who do not understand what they should do to reimplement this feature.

Another two years will probably pass before the one responsible for this decision will be removed from his position.

Remove him or her now, and get things going in the right direction again.

Dramatic much.
