TrackIR Pause Button (F9) Dose Not Freeze Screen

Featured Replies

I thought this was fixed, but still if I zoom into a view of the panel and pause trackir MSFS recenters the camera.  Am I doing something wrong or has this not been fixed.

It is fixed. Did you install a mod to fix this, because if you did that could cause a problem.

Don't think so, but I think I will run without mods and see what happens.

I removed all mods and the problem is still there.

What button are you using to freeze the image? There is a hotkey for centering the image, it sounds like that is what you are activating. Center is F12   Pause is F9

I am hitting F9. It is pausing trackir.  The track camera led's turn red, the screen freezes and recenters.

Bob is right: You need to check that the button you use to pause TIR - whether on your Yoke, mouse or keyboard - is NOT configured to do anything at all in the simulator. I initially found that any use of the KB 'Ctrl' button would disable whatever mod Asobo used to 'fix' the TIR problem: i.e. after starting the sim - TIR worked perfectly - no issues. . .  until I used the Ctrl button (as in 'Ctrl-1, 2, 3, etc for fixed views) - after returning to the normal pilot's view - TIR would now recenter when pausing. So I cleared all "Ctrl-anything". .   But it was only after checking every line in each of the two addon controllers, plus the KB and mouse - that I discovered a number of extra Camera lines that I had never seen or used, that used that same #3 button on the Saito/Logiteck Yoke. to reset the viewpoint to default pilots' view..

I'm not sure about TrackIR but in OpenTrack devices you can assign pause and recenter tracking to either a controller button or to a keyboard key. Trying to find a keyboard key seems to me a pain. So I use a hat direction instead because those are the two most commonly used commands during my flights. For instance I don't raise and lower the gear very often during a flight.

Agreed, Fielder, finding the culprit is an absolute pain, but TIR is recognised by the sim as a controller - it also has an enable/disable switch in the onscreen "arrow" menu, plus it has it's own piece of screen in the "KB/Mouse/whatever other addon device" setup system..  Not sure - but I don't think OT has this..   .

You can reassign the TrackIR Pause, Center, etc hot keys to whatever you want. That doesn't mean the "Ctrl" key problem that Paul J reported above goes away, however.

Correct, Ark. I simply removed them entirely. It seems to me that setting up the 'camera' system of MSFS has way too many choices and options for many people - I reckon one needs to have a steel-trap instant-recall memory to be able to remember them all. It also makes issues like this an easy blunder for folks like Remilton and me to have. Information overload.

Paul, could you please explain this a little more. I don't see any  "TrackIR" labeled profile controller section (like there is for the keyboard, mouse, rudder pedals, throttle quadrant, etc) under Controls Options. I do see a controller called Touch Pointer, but have no idea what that is.

Thx,

Al

I just assigned TrackIR pause to a button box with no assignments and it has the same result.  I look in a direction, freeze TrackIR and the camera snaps back to center.
