How can I remove this X-box graphic from startup screen?

Recommended Posts

Has anyone else seen this graphic come up before?  I have only seen it from last night, and I would like to remove it if possible.  Any suggestions will be welcomed!

Isn’t it all about flying instead of what loading screens you will see … ? 🤓

Marketing it brings in the cash without the money MS would stop. It makes the game pass subscribers feel needed.

Hey Brian

Supposing that you have a PC and not an Xbox, I would check first the Assistance Options Panel.

Also, you are sane enough not to have installed any UI mod 😏 😄?

Finally, someone that gets me.   I load MSFS20 at least 25 times a day.  I love playing the loading screens 😀

Then you either aren’t a great pilot or you love Loading Screens more than flying ….

What version do you have? Steam PC, Microsoft PC or Xbox?

In answer to a number of observations above:

It does matter - I don't need to see advertising for a product I'll never buy in a product I've already bought. 😉

No it doesn't affect the use of MSFS - obviously. 😉

Marketing guys ... that would be like advertising a Merc A-Class on the dashboard of a Merc S-Class.  Just a little pointless!  :))

I do much more flying than watching splash screens.

Microsoft PC version

I'll check the menus again - thanks!

Have a great day, everyone!!

I purchased the Steam version of MSFS at Christmas time. Previously had the Store version.

I have this showing in the Steam version but never had it in the Store version. I can’t find a setting that eliminates it.

Agree with OP, would be nicer without it. Will be interested to see if you find a fix.

Those game pass subscribers are what's carrying MSFS... so you really should drop this senior citizen attitude and thank them for allowing you to sim.

Brian, I haven't seen that image (so far) with my Steam version. You may want to look at https://www.avsim.com/forums/topic/599317-changing-the-splash-screens/ and search out those folders for the MS Store version to see if you can find that image in one of those 3 locations. If you do, then remove it or replace it with one of your choosing. I don't have that image myself and this is just a guess that it's in one of those three locations for you.

EDIT: This may also be a dynamically created image. You could test this by changing the assignments for the xbox controller and seeing if they change in the screen you posted about. I thought about this after finding this image named  Pad_Pict.png at MicrosoftFlightSimulator\Packages\fs-base-ui\components\LoadingMappingMinimal\ . If that's the case (it's created dynamically) then I don't know how you'd go about getting rid of it except for finding the coding that inserts it.

I thought screen loading time was for putting cream and sugar in your coffee or tea…

Ozzieblr,

I get that too mate. I normally walk away whilst it is loading.  Note that I have the UI Improvement mod installed and it may well be a part of that if you have it installed too. I do not know if it is a part of the normal store or steam version UI.

I really, really, get the xbox rubbish (for some) Like you, why do I need to have anything to do with a product that I have no wish to purchase, use, or otherwise be forced to look at. We even have it cluttering up the profile content manager in the form of repaints on most if not all default aircraft. You cannot delete those either (well you can, but when you do it is an automatic update for the next click on MSFS to load)

As they are saying though, it could be an advertising ploy (not very subtle either) and MS does not miss many tricks in that department.

I like what Phantoms has to say though and it may well be the answer to your hopes and aspirations. Good luck

Regards

Tony
