January 27, 20224 yr hi all, I love this sim, it is my main sim, I learn the a320 thanks to it and can't wait for the 737// my good old, ghmm. But, I was wondering, I saw a few take off timelapse out of cloudy weather, and it is always nice that when you go through the low level once, there are always some clouds higher, the thin layer mostly. Why does MSFS not simulate this? Or very barely a very whispy layer? Does meteoblue not have this data or what? Just wondering, cheers vic Victor Roos
January 27, 20224 yr Yep, the weather was downgraded after SU7.... Before that SU there was beautiful overcast solid cloud layers to fly through. Now there are just mostly cumulus clouds and that´s it. Hopefully things get fixed in some point. Tapani Österberg

January 27, 20224 yr Tell me about it 😞 Presets can do this for you, if you are willing to lose live weather - I use the Sofly presets sometimes. They are really good for multi layer clouds and skyscapes.....
January 27, 20224 yr Realistic cirrus is completely missing from day one, probably because the current graphics rendering system has problems depicting it. Overcast or stratus layers are present but obviously not any more in the live weather environment, which is a pitty. Hopefully we can get at least some improvement on that soon, as I agree that this really is a significant setback for the live weather setting.
January 27, 20224 yr Live weather clouds are in a very disappointing state at the moment, and unfortunately the dev Q&A didn’t give much hope of imminent change other than to say it’s being worked on. I don’t doubt that it is but some comment that they recognize the clouds need reform would have been encouraging. i910900k, RTX 3090, 32GB DDR4 RAM, AW3423DW, Ruddy girt big mug of Yorkshire Tea

January 27, 20224 yr I wonder if REX is working on particle based clouds or alternate shader based clouds. I keep thinking about how Seb will use the wind flow visualizations to illustrate some point he wants to make and how maybe that visualization system could be modified for use in making clouds. Like if maybe you could make the sim place particles at turbulence points at high altitudes. You could control their appearance I think like any particle effect (like the jet trails). | Dave | I've been around for most of my life.
