January 29, 20224 yr I kind of like flying the Otter with a modern Aspen Evolution glass display. This is using AirManager on a touch screen monitor. And I use Track IR with the Puck sometimes, not all the time but when flying through a tight mountain valley dodging snow squalls it is terrific, very immersive and the frame rate on this model is the best I have seen in my setup so far in an add-on. The Otter flies really well now even on auto pilot. I have flown all kinds of approaches now on AP and no problems at all. But I really like hand flying it, it has a real nice stable feel. It feels heavy but very stable and can land very short if you set things up right. This is now my favorite plane in FS2020. I have had to use the de icing a few times, it does not animate but it does work, it takes a while but turning on all the de ice will clear all surfaces in a few minutes. Do you lose any frames with using air manger? I know the about the msfs bug when you pop out screens you can lose 15-20fps, but is airmanger considered popping out screens? As far as I can tell you don't even loose 1 FPS with AirManager. AirManager does have a way to use popped out Garmins and then add a bezel with all the controls either touch screen or Knobster and even other hardware switches or encoders. It is a great product I have used it for about a decade now mostly on X-plane but it works great on FS2020 as well and it keeps getting better. When I use a dual G1000 pop-outs on the Kodiak, I have posted about that earlier, then I loose about 7 fps. And the Kodiak is harder on frame rate to start with at least on my system. This is one reason I like the Twin Otter better. January 29, 20224 yr Author Aspen glass is an add-on to AirManager. There are lots included and a few "premium panels" as well. There are hundreds if not thousands of free instruments that let you build and customize your own panel. I have built dozens for different planes and sims. AirManager is a very deep program, but it can also be as easy as just load a prebuilt and fly. Watch some videos about it. I don't think it is for everyone. There is a cheaper version for tablets like iPad, but they don't have as much programability. It is how I started though. It grows on you. Those are not the paid-for Twin Otter panels. Unfortunately you can't edit the payware panels, but rumour has it that someone is working on updating the Twin Otter ones for MSFS. Thanks Carlos I did build a panel myself as well by converting instruments. And I have tweaked a few instruments and built some for the Otter. Those are the ones in the photos. There are developers working on conversions of the P3D, the commercial ones. I understand they will be a free upgrade when done if you bought the P3D panel. And also there are numerous XP gauges for the Twin Otter that can be converted by Blackflyjim. They are free. Well I now have a ALPHA version of the conversion, I got from a user converting gauges those are from the Xplane version. They look great but it is not my work so no photos of that panel yet. They look exactly like the panel AS has in the plane. Do a search under Community Instruments DHC-6 and you will se all the Otter instruments. AirManager is great if you like tinkering and programming a bit. And there is a very active builder forum there.
