I Luv ASOBO

As an ex IT guy I get all the drama but ASOBO has proven to be the most conducive team for devs.

Well, but it‘s still their hardware causing many issues , isn’t it?

I think they've done a great job overall.  Undeniably some road bumps,   but I'm glad they launched the sim when they did because it gave a lot of us something to occupy our minds with during the quarantines.   I flew a half dozen short flights today in my home area,  and the weather and lighting looked fairly close to real life.   It gets better as time passes.

How is that ?

They are a dev team, the hardware running the servers is Microsoft.

This thread has my vote for both the most useless and most likely To turn into a dustbin fire by the end of page 1

They are an absolute MODEL for how to effectively engage and work together with the community. Direct lines of communication with developers, marketplace agreements that don't require exclusivity, open / public regular discussions directly with customers / users on live streams with the CEO, a passion for making the application better and better, proactive updates that move the needle forward when they could just as easily coast on the volume of licenses they've already sold, an open roadmap, going as far as to ACQUIRE third party devs and tools and merge them into the codebase - again for free, and on, and on, and on...

Not to mention free massive content updates that would have cost many times more than the MSFS license were you to buy it from a third party.

I'm not sure ANY other team would have handled the challenge and been so community friendly as Asobo. Certainly others have tried <cough Dovetail> <cough cough Microsoft Flight>.

I'm still in a bit of funk about the state of clouds in Live Weather, but considering what Asobo have managed to bring us so far, and their engagement with the community (again, not perfect but way more than we've had with any other sim devs) they deserve a LOT of credit.

Kudos遊ぼう!
