White Logging Spinner: Hasta La Vista, Baby!!!!

Featured Replies

I'm no expert but I see the spinner on our tv when streaming movies, which means the buffer is reloading.  This may mean the same thing here that the data bucket is full and has to reload.

Like I say, I'm no expert, but maybe it has something to do with Rolling Cache and the size of the buffer. or maybe your computer doesn't have enough memory and has to reload,  Just something to consider.

Lots of SysRAM and VRAM, and the spinner issue has persisted since Day 1 thru 3 reinstalls, with and without large and smaller rolling caches, and w/ an internet bandwidth of 400mbps, etc.  I'm so pleased to see Asobo changed this in SU8 it's nice to have the pilot log working again.

No spinning circle since SU8 . Never had any stutters when it was there.

@Noel, what is your secret to having MSFS 2020 looks so amazing like that??? I can't even tell if its a game anymore, looks even better than real life!

I 100% agree it's getting harder and harder to tell what's real and what isn't!   I figured everyone was seeing this and I'm sure many must be as I have no secrets ;o)    Those are especially nice screenshots but does point to just how photoreal it has become and I can't overestimate the role of this photoreality in a fully complete "flight simulation," in contrast with the "cockpit simulator" that P3D v4.5x became for me towards the end.  I am looking forward to XP12--by the time it launches MSFS will have evolved very likely significantly past where it is today as Asobo is cranking out updates to the SDK on a weekly basis, PMDG NG3 is on the horizon now, and I think we will see increasing stability and wisdom w/ the release of new Sim and World Scenery Update strategies incorporating public betas etc.

MSF is weird.

I hardly ever saw the spinny spinny thing prior to SU8. Now I see it frequently. Fortunately, it is not causing any stutters. So, I'll just keep on keeping on.

I know from images that the spinning circle is down on the lower right. I don't remember ever seeing it except back when my cpu was overheating due to a faulty cooler. A new $50 water cooler fixed that.

I think the new DEV MODE feature being designed will go a long way to cure these issues. It will display in a window like that DEV MODE fps multi color readout. Only the headings will be for traffic, weather, ATC, and many more. Each one showing a color and numbers indicating which sub system is overloading, bottle necking, using too much resources. That will give a clue what to adjust in the settings to stop CTDs and up performance. They were talking about this is the last Q&A. A screenshot of the numbers and colors will be useful when you contact Zendesk to complain. They can see more closely where the problem lies on your system.

It is here, and for at least one other who also reported the spinner is gone post SU8 install.
