March 1, 20224 yr I have lamented that blithering thing since Day 1 when I could not help but notice nearly every time the whirling dervish displays in the lower right corner of the screen a stutter occurred. The cure for me was turning Dev Mode on then off any time in a flight which stopped this annoyance, but at the cost of killing logging of flights in the pilot log. I am super stoked to say it's finally GONE!!!!!!!!! I put 3 zendesk tickets on this so pleased to see this is now completely gone!!!!!! Whoopee!!!!!!! What I wrote was that use to toggle Dev Mode on/off in order to stop the spinner from displaying, and in SU8 the spinner stopped displaying w/o the need to toggle DM. I'm amazed others did complain much at all about the microstutter that the spinner appearance was associated with, or they didn't have the stutter or didn't notice it. It has always been very apparent to me since Day 1. I do occasionally go into DM to assess MainThread load so yes, perhaps they also untangled the DM from the pilot log book functioning. Next time up I will give it a whirl and see if both issues were solved. March 2, 20224 yr This a little off subject but is there a way to get the frame counter without going to the dev mode? I like to have it but I get that long window that takes up a lot of screen. Roy i7-10700 CPU @2.90 GHz, 32 GB Ram, nVadia GTX1660ti, Samsung 1 TB SSD Drive

You can set up its on-screen-display and configure to be able to see frame rate, and many other data such as CPU Core0 Temp, and SystemRAM in use, and VRAM in use, etc. Here's a image of what I see in the upper left, with frame rate at the bottom at 30fps, then SysRAM at 11515mb, then CPU8 which is the main thread on an eight core CPU, and so forth. It's gone gone IMO--but it would be hard to determine otherwise because you would not see the spinner followed by stutter. I don't have stutters except w/ the spinner, and also with ATC. I have a work around for the ATC related microstutter. Also, if the spinner is gone I will be really happy, but this must be something new because before, entering dev mode only reduced it (mainly when clearing the fault log), so I can't wait to try it! You will be delighted I'm sure! And nice to see the logging of flights once again. You are right the dev mode toggle does allow a few spinners thru provided you go into dev mode after launching the flight plan and hit FLY, but as you know this maneuver dramatically reduces the appearance of the white spinner. Someone created the ATC Stuttering Fix, however it stopped worked I want to say with SU6. That solution worked fairly well, but did it by limiting total lines of ATC text to 4, dropping off the oldest one when the newest one executes. My workaround is crude: using the toolbar I simply turn ATC off, including shutting down the ATC window. You will still HEAR ATC speech, but won't see the ATC window with text, and this eliminates the stutter. I always assumed it must be the audio, Azure, anything but a simple window w/ scrolling text, but alas it seems to be, which I guess is why the ATC Stuttering Fix worked. This just in: I'm wondering if maybe they fixed this at least some. I've not done enough flights in SU8 or should I say haven't looked close enough but it seems like I didn't notice much. I'll tell you what's cool: to be looking at these two little things as the final sources of microstutters, despite flying something like the quite decent 787X Heavy Division thru places like this: KC Missouri: Incredible, unbelievably gorgeous skies like this (at least some of the time 🙃) Go anywhere and sample what that place in large part REALLY looks like. San Jose, Costa Rica: 100's of fabulously done airports from simple to complex--all included in the basic package. And it keeps getting better! I just did a flight from KDEN to KIAH and after touchdown the spinner displayed twice but never during the rest of the flight. I think it is because it displays for many reasons on inputs and outputs (loading / saving). Sometimes it happens when saving a log, as you suggest, and sometimes when it is loading complex scenery or other data. The pause every minute in the bush flights is one example, when it is auto-saving the scenario - this is a well known one. It appears the slight stutter on touchdown is when it loads the touchdown sounds. This would be a left-over issue from FSX if this is the case. Normally it only happens on first touch down for the particular plane you are flying. Rob (but call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind).
