March 30, 20224 yr I took a two month hiatus from MSFS and recently returned first by doing some plane-spotting in my home airport of KBNA. Using default live traffic with AIG liveries, I was pleasantly surprised. What I noticed: Seemed to populate with a good number of planes in the area. Not one-to-one like PSXT, certainly, but more than I was used to seeing and certainly good in number. Saw departing traffic leaving the gates and taxing to the runway (I understand this was fixed in one of the recent updates) Departing traffic was using correct runways for departure Of course, it wasn't perfect. Cons: Saw the occasional arriving aircraft land and sit there on the runway (an ongoing bug) There's one runway in particular where if the logic believes the departing traffic should use it for departure (based on winds), the traffic taxing to that runway seem to get confused. Luckily, that runway isn't used 70-80% of the time, even in real life. Side note: speaking of PSXT, I notice how that's improved as well. I currently go and forth between the two as there can be pros/cons for each. Taking cover now, lol. 😄
March 30, 20224 yr So I am using AIG but with the traffic controller. But find a lot of the time is does not inject or simply bombs out. So I might just turn on Live traffic and see what happens with the AIG AI. Would be nice to have one less app running behind the sim. Live traffic and AIG right now seems to be the less labor-intensive option, and also seems to work well, as long as you realize it may take 10 minutes or so after you're on the runway or at the gate B4 things begin to start picking up. Yes but is GA traffic being produced by AIG or are you simply seeing it occasionally ? My question remains.....Is this just for airline traffic, or does it include GA aircraft as well ? In other words, is there an option to produce GA (AI traffic) with AIG? Edited March 31, 20224 yr by Beagle12 Update text

Since it's default live traffic, it is the default live traffic setting itself that is producing the GA traffic (it's inherent) AIG is not producing the GA traffic in this scenario, it is only providing liveries. Depends on two variables: 1) the liveries you choose to download, and 2) your ground aircraft density settings. Any moving AI in the air or taxing on the ground (or soon to be moving, i.e. AI at the gates prior to taxing) will reflect the real airline liveries. At the gates for static ground aircraft (with the setting above 0, obviously), liveries are chosen randomly. So if you've downloaded AIG liveries that are common outside the US, it is possible those might show up in the static aircraft. If you only downloaded US liveries, then only US airliners will appear there as static ground aircraft. If your ground aircraft settings are at 0, then only the moving AI appears, so correct liveries there anyway. Another option for correct static aircraft at gates are addons such as this one: https://latinvfr.com/collections/frontpage/products/airport-static-aircraft-1 I'm guessing there are similar addons for free as well at flightsim.to. Yes, it is also supplying more accurate plane models where/as the traffic is generated (particularly for the airliners). MrBitsFlyer provides a great explanation below regarding GA). With PSXT & RealTraffic, all GA traffic is seen, but the model used will be PC12 for single engines as that is the nearest model in AIG to a small single. There are a few Twin models and plenty of Biz jet models so the sky is busy! I fly out of KSZP, a small GA airport and that has a busy circuit! March 31, 20224 yr These sound like the current state of the art, however at the moment I remain patient to see where MSFS takes it over the next year or so. So I use Simple Traffic and Real-Time Online and it's not bad and is a very net plus over straight default. Interesting but are you talking about PSXT & Real Traffic or AIG when you departed KSZP ?
