I have a 2060 and it performs well. From Nvidia you set a lower resolution in the game settings and the GPU upscales to native resolution and sharpens as required/selected. The GPU does render at a lower resolution internally, but you have to select this resolution in the game. In the driver/control panel you just enable Image Scaling, the sharpness required and the overlay option, that is all. https://www.nvidia.com/en-gb/geforce/news/nvidia-image-scaler-dlss-rtx-november-2021-updates/ I think you are referring to the older DSR scaling from the Maxwell era. What i have read in my PC Magazine "PC-Games Hardware" i´ve understand, that DLSS renders the demanded resolution internaly with a lower res. based on the DLSS Factors. And then it upscales again for the screen to the demanded resolution. I. ex. you have set P3D resolution to 1920, the frames are rendered at a resolution of 760 if the DLSS factor is set to 75%, and will be upscaled to 1920 for the screen with the pixels rendered by the AI DL agorythms. May be i got that wrong. April 5, 20224 yr It works on my system set up in NCP then in the sim change the res to half 4K 1440 the fly in full screen and the green NIS will show top left. Edited April 5, 20224 yr by G-RFRY Raymond Fry.
April 6, 20224 yr I think we are talking at cross purposes in this thread. Nvidia's new Image Scaling is not DLSS. DLSS has to be supported by the game and an Nvidia profile. The newer but inferior Image Scaling option is a more global solution whereby once activated in the CP you simply set the game to a supported lower resolution and then the GPU driver upscales to native desktop fullscreen resolution. April 6, 20224 yr where can I find a tutorial on this ( 1080ti ) if my GPU supports it ?, cheers very much ROG Crossair Hero X670e , 9900X, TUF 4090 , X4 NVME's. OS 2TB 980 Pro , MSFS 2TB WD Black , Kington Fury 64GB ram ( 6000) Corsair RM1000 PSU, Artic Freezer iii 360 AIO . Phanteks P600s Case ,TCL QM8B 50" 120 Hz TV,second 24 inch screen for charts you tube etc, and 11" touch screen for the EFB. Warthog Stick and TCA Captains throttle ( full pack) Velocity 1 Rudder Pedals , extreme3D for the Tiller,Streamdeck XL x2 / Streamdeck +/Streamdeck mini because i like pressing buttons
April 6, 20224 yr Sonny, I have the same GPU, it supports it but I don't understand what it does yet. You can activate it through NCP, manage 3D settings and the first feature in global settings is image scaling. Edited April 6, 20224 yr by SergioN SN737
April 8, 20224 yr There are also new DSR-DL screen modes - aka Dynamic Super Resolution - DL, which stands for "Deep Learning", an Ai screen mode enabling more performance with great aesthetics. https://www.rockpapershotgun.com/nvidias-deep-learning-dynamic-super-resolution-tech-is-out-now-heres-how-to-enable-it A few pics: Cheers Ryzen 5800X clocked to 4.7 Ghz (SMT off), 32 GB ram, Samsung 1 x 1 TB NVMe 970, 2 x 1 TB SSD 850 Pro raided, Asus Tuf 3080Ti P3D 4.5.14, Orbx Global, Vector and more, lotsa planes too.
