Facts are lies. Freedom is slavery. Ignorance is bliss.

Yes, lots of the "facts" spread here about MSFS are actually lies, you're right. Examples: it's not a serious flight simulator, it looks good only in PR, it can't do real IFR, the flight model is bad, noone is using it anymore... All lies. Go ahead, prove me wrong. And prove doesn't mean: find some clueless gaming site or YouTuber who says so because they heard somewhere. Prove me wrong with facts that can be objectively checked. Thanks in advance.

No I will bash mSparks

MSFS bashing ok lets be honest the code is a hybrid of 2 systems which cannot be fixed and no matter how many job ads asobo place! it will never be fixed and that's the situation so you can handle that because that is where everything is at the moment with a company trying to make it work not only on pc based systems but also a console with code developed over 15 years ago!

The code runs on windows that is hardware open and on windows that is tailored to one specific hardware platform. That's what's true about your statement.

XPs code otoh is 30 years old in part and we can currently witness how it is a decade project to try and bring it up to today's standard.

Talk about "cannot be fixed" when XP takes years and years just to implement a not actually new anymore graphics standard like Vulkan. While MSFS just implements DX12 in year two on the market.

This is (among other things) why I still come here. The entertainment factor of that coupled with the hilarious and fact free MSFS bashing is just too entertaining.

This wasn't MSFS bashing. It's ESP/FSX/P3D bashing.

I haven't time mate with MS employees to start plastering the correspondence between dovetail games and yourselves OK! and neither do I care. We had all this nonsense on XP ORG for over a year! ALl I know as a customer is the product that MS has offered which I payed for at full rate is pretty poor! 2 years on and still the basics have not been fixed!

I don't see many declarations that the flight model is bad. Only that it's inferior to XP. That's not bad, per se. Just not as good.

Now, the MSFS fans flocking to these forums repeatedly fail to address the lists of capabilities that XP12 will improve upon. When presented with said lists, they simply respond with "oh boooo". Very unconvincing.

its not. it was stated from the beggining they were not even going to try for accreditation, it completely escapes me why people still pretend its anything other than a game for a bit of fun in the evening. Its like trying to convince a young child a vampire movie they shouldnt have watched isnt real.

It never looks bad in the PR... dont make me pull out my favourite MSFS ground scenery shot.

"noone" in home entertainment is relative.

Suits get mad when their $200million marketing budget nets them 10,000 unique players a month, anything less than 100,000 is no budget indy studio territory.

MS isnt even doing 10,000 these days, barely half that, same order of magnitude as XP11 - both are failures in the home entertainment market, luckily laminar still has a fair few commercial customers paying $25,000 a copy for XP11 and millions using the phone versions, so XP12 can happen.

I don't respond with "oh boooo". I respond with "In XP 12.55, in 2027, possibly. Or in XP13." 😉

So true! Most of you just sit in stunned silence, not knowing how to respond to clear and concise discussion and then huff and puff that you're embarrassed that you came over here and were proven wrong.

Nice dodging. I do like your writing though.

Not dodging. Just quoting the neighboring thread that got shut down earlier today. I was corrected on the tree swaying issue, but the other items remain.... shall we say, un-boood? Just silence.

Compliment appreciated, ditto! 🙂

Your opinion that it's not does not make it so.  With the higher fidelity aircraft now available you can make it as serious as you want.

I really don't understand all of this MSFS hate over here.  It's quite juvenile actually.  I've owned and used every version of X-Plane since version 3.0.  Can you say that?  Yet I still prefer MSFS because it gives me a more immersive experience.  Yet you don't see me bashing XP like you bash MS.  Can you just grow up please?  Honestly, I am looking forward to what XP 12 has to offer but I don't even want to come here to find out because of all the XP sn*bery.
