The grass is generally considered to be too long (and too prevalent!).   I found that setting grass to LOW in the settings has a positive effect;  It doesn't seem to reduce the quality of the grass; just the quantity, meaning that grass runways are a lot less covered in the stuff.

PS... Virginian Bluegrass is my favourite grass!

a combination of bluegrass, Kentucky bluegrass, featherbed bent and northern California sensemilia.  The amazing stuff about this, is that you can play 36 holes on it in the afternoon, take it home and just get stoned to the bejeezus-belt that night on the stuff.

It's not perfect, but it's fine - and certainly miles better than patchy sprites.

I'd imagine grass is hard to do perfectly just because of the density of objects you'd have to render, which would completely tank performance.

I would like to see a World Update, just dedicated to World grass and trees and shrubs. More accurate representation and varieties as per location and season changes.  Implementing fall foliage and leaves on the ground, and some trees with no leaves in winter in the Northern hemisphere.  Not that the current is bad (other sims have no grass at all), but I would like to see it improved for sure.
