The High Ground

A lovely flight from North Fork Valley to Lake County (7V2 - KLXV - highest public use airport in North America)

@Ron Attwood Thank you for the paint!

The mountains are very tall in this area (peaks above 14k) so I elect to fly north out of 7V2 towards Red Table VOR (DBL), and then turn east, passing Aspen (KASE), and then climb above 12500 for just a short while (legal for 30 min in the US without O2) till teaching the valley.  I enter the downwind for RY 34 and land...  I ended up carry quite a bit of power as the density altitude was fairly high and the field elevation is 9934 msl.

I think there is so much to explore in this MSFS world, you can hardly keep up. I hadn't even finished flying around Spain and Portugal, when Italy came out. And this, with the southern Alps and its interesting lakes, is even better 🙂

Any attempt to stretch fuel is guaranteed to increase headwinds

I've barely even scratched the world's surface

Often I just fly local to shoot approaches, or recall places I've flown irl.  I should get out more though 😜

Looks like a really tough place to maneuver and land... (your Navigational Displays are lit up with mountains...) ...

Awesome scenery shots...!!
