May 28, 20224 yr A lovely flight from North Fork Valley to Lake County (7V2 - KLXV - highest public use airport in North America) @Ron Attwood Thank you for the paint! The mountains are very tall in this area (peaks above 14k) so I elect to fly north out of 7V2 towards Red Table VOR (DBL), and then turn east, passing Aspen (KASE), and then climb above 12500 for just a short while (legal for 30 min in the US without O2) till teaching the valley. I enter the downwind for RY 34 and land... I ended up carry quite a bit of power as the density altitude was fairly high and the field elevation is 9934 msl.
