June 2, 20224 yr This "test" tells us very little. You're staring out the windows, plane and cockpit have spawned in, the A320 cockpit seems to be cold and dark, etc. A more valid way of measuring smoothness and fps would be to test what happens when you rapidly change views, move from outside to inside and vice versa, taxi by complex airport scenery, and, especially, during approach and landings, etc.

June 2, 20224 yr Author There is no agender here to make the Fexin look better, the same or worse than the PMDG, its a simple test to show what I find. Do with that as you wish. 6 hours ago, pilotter said: your fenix panel seems to be in the cold and dark mode? Yes it makes not diffrence. See below.🙂 5 hours ago, fakeflyer737 said: Yeah and its not looking at anything. Its basically staring out the windscreen. Very bad comparison to be honest. Not looking at anything, I surgest you get an understanding just how and what MSFS renders and what Ultra setting mean. Do you really think its just rendering the wall. Dear me...."staring out the windscreen" yer strangely you do that all the time when in the VC.😂 A "Very bad comparison"...when the views are the same, really...think about that. 😂 The same Airport, the same gate but ""Very bad comparison". Right!!!! Just for you with more to see!😂 1 hour ago, Ricardo41 said: This "test" tells us very little. With FPS caped at 31 everything you say has no effect. Fenix C&D 😜 With more to see 😂 Add on airport EGBB Fenix in ready state... O look.....😂 now looking at all displays, its now lighter as time as moved on. ......someone going to say yer but your looking down and away from the airport....Oooo PMDG "same view" again change of time as I use live weather/time so.........yes it has 3 more FPS....Oooo "Very bad comparison"🙃 make of it as you wish.👍 The bottom line is if you cap your FPS as you should imo you will see no diffrence in the two aircraft unless you cannot maintain 30 FPS. For me the hardest hitting airport for me is FT KBOS this is with overcast and rain. Its also the hardest hitting FPS angle as it looking at Boston as well as all the airport. So with FPS caped it never moves off 31(what I lock at) Edited June 2, 20224 yr by Nyxx David Murden. June 2, 20224 yr This is why so many people are arguing over nothing nowadays..... I only have the Fenix, Know that the PMDG is better in FPS. Only wanted to say that with different scenario's in the cockpit you have different FPS. If you feel offended I am sorry. For what it is worth I gave up on Photogrammetrie in MSFS and my FPS are perfect, but more important no more stutters. When flying VFR, I switch it back on. PMDG and Fenix are both super! and we could all enjoy and help each other. June 2, 20224 yr Easiest way to tweak your sim is to load up at Heathrow, Los Angeles, New York or any taxing airport and set everything to medium. Then start taxiing around playing with the settings. My aim is to have it locked at 35fps. I'm not happy with smooth at 25. I'll forgo a few bells and whistles. I agree with old mate above that staring out a window means nothing when you turn to your efb and you lose 10 frames. I'll get the PMDG -800 when it's out and see which is the king in performance. But it's +1 to Fenix at the moment allowing you to offload some processing to your onboard gpu. Edited June 2, 20224 yr by VBHB Running i5-9600K @ 4.8ghz - 32GB DDR4 3200mhz - GTX 3070.

Everyone has to test themselfs. I Tried NY HC and FPS where fine there. Enjoy the 800 it is the best imo of all the 737 line. David Murden. June 2, 20224 yr Commercial Member 11 hours ago, lwt1971 said: That's pretty impressive especially given how the Fenix is doing more computations/processing for all that Airbus fly-by-wire automation compared to the Boeing. Do you see similar performance differences between both when in-flight? That's likely because it does all these computations in the external .EXE which, by default, and without doing anything special on the developer side, is assigned its own separate threads (and its own spare CPU cores) by the OS, so it's not affecting the MSFS Main Thread so much. It's likely the code still has room for improvement, with far more optimization options than if it ran inside MSFS. Also, you can even have some control over it, by playing with the OS Affinity settings, depending on your system and how many other apps you run in the background. Asobo has promised multi-threading for WASM a while ago, but right now is not there yet so, until it will eventually arrive, likely in the way of each WASM module begin assigned its own thread, external .EXE have the performance edge, at least when computations and system simulation is concerned. Drawing gauge graphics, that's completely different, it's too dependent on the developer ability to be smart drawing stuff, regardless of the method.
