Anyone suffering Longitude cockpit display freeze ups?

Featured Replies

Is anyone suffering Longitude cockpit display freeze ups? I've noticed a problem the last couple of weeks with the Longitude on my system. I'll be flying and everything will be progressing fine -- and then the cockpit autopilot numbers will freeze. I can turn the knobs, but the altitude and the speed control and the VS, etc. never show a change. Oddly, however, the Longitude does obey the commanded inputs anyway. When I switch to external view, the altitude, speed, heading, etc. are shown to have changed in response to my input. Back in the cockpit, however, the displayed numbers remain the same as before. This quirky behavior has occurred about half a dozen times for me in recent weeks. I have no explanation.

Do you use the latest WT 3000 mod? I regularly fly Longitude with WT 3000 and have never experienced that problem, I also use dakfly's Longitude mod.

I think the latest version of WT 3000 (0.7.7) are only available at WT's homepage. https://www.workingtitle.aero/packages/g3000/

I’m experiencing these autopilot freeze ups just using the default Longitude with no mods at all.

Disabling the enhanced VFR map that comes with the G3000 mod will do the trick:

I only get funky display behavior when I mess with the GPS map zoom back and fourth too much. The sim doesn’t seem to like too much of zooming in and out consecutively in any aircraft GPS display.

I've been experimenting for the last few hours trying to discern the problem I'm having with the Longitude cockpit display. I've emptied every single thing from my Community folder and restored every option to default. Still, the autopilot display doesn't show updated numbers when I attempt to adjust altitude, speed, VS, heading, etc. The Longitude does accept and obey my autopilot inputs. But the display doesn't reflect these inputs. And I only know what I've input after switching to external view and seeing them on the external heads-up display. I'm at a loss to explain this. Again, I'm using the default Longitude with no mods at all. The only change I've made to my flight sim setup over the past few weeks has been the addition of the PMDG. But the 737 is working perfectly. I just made a test flight and none of the problems affecting the Longitude affect the 737. The Cessna 172 with the G1000 is likewise working fine. My next attempt will be to delete the Longitude altogether and reinstall it. This is very odd for me. I've been flying the Longitude as my chosen aircraft since August of 2020, when the sim launched and I never experienced any of these problems. So something, somewhere, changed recently. I just have to figure out what it is.
