"Regarding our development updates, we are working hard on the Amphibian variant of the Kodiak. The exterior and interior models have been completed. A significant amount of time has gone in re-engineering the interior of the aircraft so that it is compatible with Asobo's submodel and attachment system.

First of all, the passengers and cargo are no longer built-into the model, but separate models of their own. The gains from this are three-fold:
-The passengers/cargo now don't count against the aircraft's poly count. That means that the cockpit and cabin will switch LODs a bit further, slightly improving the visual quality of the aircraft.
-The passengers/cargo each have their own LOD degradation, meaning that each of them will drop in detail relative to the camera, instead of being a single object that degrades as a group. That means better looks and performance.
-They can be replaced! No more cardboard crates. You can create your own mod and create a bike, a stack of medical crates, a stretcher and a chicken cage. Then you can load each of them in the appropriate station. Passengers? If you don't like “Jimmy the stiff” or “Betty the frozen”, you can create your own passenger mod and bring in a different passenger model, even animated!

Secondly, the interior model now supports Asobo's submodel feature. This makes it easier for us (and you) to add extra parts to the cockpit, such as an EFB model or more sticker decals, without having to export the entire cockpit. Model the new part, place it in the correct position, export the piece and call it from the xml.

As that feature didn't exist when the Kodiak was built, the above are not used to their maximum potential. However, a slight size reduction is expected, and the feature will also carry over to the wheeled Kodiak. The best part is that the Kodiak is now moldable, without you having to redistribute our source files. The good news is that we will make maximal use of this feature in our future aircraft.

As for the Airvan, we have had this workhorse in our sights for some time and are finally able to start working on it. The aircraft's coding is mostly complete and just like the PC-12, we are dialing in the basic geometry and engine parameters using a basic model of the aircraft to get the sizing right. The aircraft will come equipped with steam gauges and the typical GNS530 plus Bendix/King radio stack. It will make use of the same features as the Kodiak, meaning that the cargo, passenger's and some instruments will be moldable, so you can create your own radio stack or instrument panel.

Lastly, an update to the RV-14 will be finalized next week, adding a GNS530 radio stack and getting packaged for PC and Xbox. As we said, the Xbox version will feature ONLY the GNS530 stack, until the 750 is made available to the console. That is all for this week!

Speaking of future aircraft, we are planning for three more for 2022. The RV-10, Airvan and PC-12. Regarding the PC-12, we have our WIP exterior in the simulator and are dialing in the basic geometry, electrical and engine parameters. We are nitpicking at the exterior still, as some details of the aircraft were hard to come by. However, thanks to Pilatus and our pilots, we have everything we need and can soon dash to the finish line and focus on the cockpit! It is the last 10% that takes all the time. The RV-10 is making solid progress, with a significant part of the exterior modelled and undergoing review to make sure we got it all right. We promise to share pictures in the next couple of weeks."

hmm Airvan, good to see more Aussie made aircraft being modelled in the sim. I assume the Airvan is the g10 turboprop model not the G8 with the Lycoming ?

As for the RV-10, it comes as a kit plane, I wonder if we have to assemble the MSFS version before we can fly it ?

If I can fill up the cabin with chickens and hear them going crazy during turbulence, then that will be the sim aircraft I never knew that I always wanted.

It will be extra great if they clap after a good landing.

Turtles in a big box is more my speed. Plus, no matter how many lods there are, my speed stays the same ( <-  see what I almost pulled off there). Kudos to SWS for the Kodiak!

I am also curious to know the specific model of the Airvan - 8 or 10, Lycoming or turboprop or maybe options for both.

It's a Lycoming GA-8...I'm not sure whether many turboprop models were built in real life 

Is it clear which PC12 they will be doing? they showed a picture in January of a NGX model, but i guess it will be a non-NGX. Otherwise they need to make a full digital avionics suite. 

In Feb they showed an DHC-7, any word on that?

I believe they are doing both tje PC12, Steam gauge year end 2022, 3000 based suite mid 2023 target dates.
