FENIXA320: Displays remain black

Featured Replies

Hello everyone!

Since todays update of Microsoft Gaming Services, all Displays in the FENIX A320 remain black (PD, ND, MCDU, FCU, ...). Changing display settings in the FENIX App and loading panel status "READY" didn't change anything.

I suggest that you reinstall the Fenix app. That usually resolves authentication issues caused by a platform update

Authentication issues...

Does this mean that the plane has to remain connected to an external website to be used?

Don’t know about that, but I’m pretty sure the app checks for valid license on startup. I could be wrong but that’s my take.

That’s what it does through the Fenix App by connecting to the Fenix Servers and making sure each license is only used on 1 machine

So the black screens would not be because its having problems streaming data from a server.....

I just worry a bit.

I expect that Microsoft servers will be active and available effectively forever, but not to sure about little softwire companies like Fenix, and I don't want to be caught with junkware one day.....

Ah! Had the exact same problem today! Only a reset of my PC solved this! I also have had a CTD almost every flight. I think the update screwed up something. But not everyone seems to have these kind of problems...

Correct, I've done 3 problem-free flights in the Fenix today. So far, I flew 31 flights for my VA in the Fenix without any anomalies.

What is a "reset of your PC"   ?

I have 94 flights in the A 320 so far. Only problem I had was 2 CTDs caused by the Google Mod, which went away when I uninstalled it.

Sorry, I meant a restart. English is not my native language and I understand now that 'reset' might make people think I did a complete reinstall of Windows and everything. That's not the case. I simply turned my PC off and then on again and the black screens worked again. 😉 Still had a CTD some 20 minutes later...

Never had any problems with MSFS (since the initial bèta) nor the Fenix (which is the only plane I flew since I bought it). Up to now. So odd. I know someone who seriously has done thousands of flights since the initial MSFS release and never had any problems. But suddenly MSFS won't work properly anymore and even multiple reinstalls (of Windows and MSFS) won't solve the problem. Scary stuff. Consider yourself lucky with a working sim. 😉

You did say you were running an ATC program , have you tried disabling that?

That was only during the last two flights. I had problems before that already. But yes, my next flight will be without that addon for sure. ;)

I've been in the PMDG for a good few flights, hopped in the Fenix and had a few niggles like my joystick and throttle wouldn't work in the plane, AP panel not coming on.  I've noticed the Fenix app automatically loads when you choose your airport and the sim is loading.  This time I run the app first but made sure it was "run as administrator" via a right click before the sim launched.  This seemed to do the trick.  You can also right click the fenix app and go into properties to always force to run as an administrator.  Seems to have cured my niggles by YMMV.
