July 7, 20223 yr I'm flying north from KSBM, going around the northern tip of Lake Michigan to KMCD - very popular tourist destination. Maybe in the mist you'll see the famous Mackinac Bridge. July 8, 20223 yr some outstanding shots in this series! All my FSX/P3D repaints are here on Avsim, for my MSFS repaints, go to FS.2
July 8, 20223 yr The 'explosives' factory is actually a limestone quarry. Pretty common in the U.P. of Mich. Supports the making of steel so the ships will load up there and head down stream to either side of Mi. Gary Indiana or the Detroit area. The Iron Ore comes from farther north. Duluth, Marquette... Great Shots and If you ever get the chance to gor to MCD for real its worth the hike to the airport! Greg

Greg Ok - the only reason I guessed that is because there is a company located on site called 'Austin Powder' which is pretty funny. I have not been to the UP - but I lived in Duluth for over a decade. Someday I'll fly out to MCD. | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |
July 13, 20223 yr Very nice trip and pics, Ryan...!! You probably flew across the Lake.... Recall my two trips to Mackinac Island, once from the east (Columbus, OH), and once from the west, Chicago, painstakingly by road...🙂... had made it up north to Sault Ste. Marie, on both occasions... And, yes, did spot the Mackinac Bridge in your pictures, in the mist.... (Clearly recall the unusually strong wind while driving across it...) ...
