How to make transition to MSFS Easier?

Featured Replies

Spend some time on forums before buying addons, there are some excellent addons out there and also some truly awful ones that are a complete waste of money.

Consider the deluxe or premium/deluxe packs as they are cheaper as a bundle with the initial game rather than adding later.  There are a few quite respectable GA addons including the Beech Baron, Steam c172, Pipistrel Virus and Cirrus SR22 included plus some reasonable hand crafted airports.

I just made the switch recently. Like others are saying, once you figure out the camera system, the UI, and you setup the control bindings to your liking, it’ll be a lot easier to transition.

I don't know if others experience this or not but if you are in the cockpit and you select either Drone or External camera,  it seems best to return to cockpit mode before trying to switch to the other outside camera.  I have gotten stuck out there in weird views that I don't even know where they came from.  Its a toggle system that seems a bit bugged. (or I just still can't figure it out)

but as others say: watch videos on cameras and controls and then disable pre flight cinematics and most accesibility options.  You may want to keep assisted rudder at first.  They don't seem to have the transitions from air to ground handling worked out yet.

That's right--hit whichever button you hit to get to either camera view again to get back to cockpit view, then choose the other view as desired:   INSERT-INSERT, then END-END.

Get a dedicated 500 GB+ SSD and install MSFS on it.  Agree that the Addons Linker is the first (free) add-on to get.

You have not mentioned hardware, but unlike P3D you do need 16GB of RAM and 8 GB of VRAM as a minimum..

A good internet connection is also essential..

Do everything everyone already said, then hop into any cockpit for an early morning flight and have your mind blown and grin ear to ear. What a time to be a flight sim enthusiast!
