I can also just remember Steve Zodiac and Fireball XL5.

Just for the petrol heads Fireball XL5 isn't the nickname for the Ford Pinto

Yes, I can just about remember Fireball XL5 too. Steve Zodiac I don't remember.

Then in later years we had Joe 90, didn't watch that.

Some decent US shows for kids followed of course... Voyage to The Bottom of The Sea, Lost in Space, Land of The Giants.

Is it me, or did kids in those days get much better TV?

In America we had Starcom on Saturday Mornings instead of Thunderbirds.

Tomy made a real electro mechanical pinball game based on the show. No cpus, just genuine electro magnetic rollovers and bumpers and bells and rolling scoreboard (all mechanical and electrical). C size flashlight batteries (I use rechargeable C's).

Tomy Starcom pinball is exactly the same as Tomy Atomic Arcade pinball, except for the graphics painted on the table.

Based on this Saturday morning TV show:

Scramble!

To repair a used Tomy pinball just check youtube:

Gerry Anderson was still at it when my son was young. He used to like Space Precinct.

😁 Forget those things. I said European. So Ferrari, Lamboghini or how about trying the Bugatti Chiron for size, or the Zonda.

That Pagani Huayra R is one fugly car no matter how well it corners. It also sounds like the last slot car I owned many decades ago.

I'm old enough to say I had a Fireball XL5 playset for Christmas. I think the parents pulled a few strings to get that.

"Much better" is the understatement of the year I've got 2, 5 year old grandchildren and I can't believe the rubbish they watch. Next year I introduce them to Gerry Anderson.

Oh and Steve Zodiac was the pilot of XL5.
