I´ve finally made the transition to MSFS

Featured Replies

Title says it all- I´ve finally left FSX (for good) and XP 11 (at least for a while) behind and built me a better computer and got MSFS Standard Edition from Microsoft store. What shall I say? I´m impressed. My i5-9600KF and mediocre Radeon RX 550 4gb handles the new sim quite well. So here´s my first MSFS screenshot (in 1440p resolution, medium to high settings):

Congrats...nice shot! 🙂

I need to do that. Still dragging my heels.

Welcome and great photo.

One of the reasons I'm enjoying using MSFS is because I like taking part in it's development. Not in a huge way however I've been there from Alpha to SU10 beta.

Luckily not too many issues and never for too long...It's this involvement in it's development, however miniscule in the scheme of things, I appreciate and never had the chance with sims like FSX of P3D....and even on my I7-7700K/1080Ti it's been more than fine from day one @4K and high end settings.

I used to be an airliner-only flyer however MSFS has completely changed that because it's scenery is so good and high-end freeware & pay ware 3rd party stuff is the best it's ever been....I love the PMDG 737 and my first true Av-love is the 747...but the low and slow or short hops in the H-Jet are feeding my addiction...looking forward to more of your photos.

Thank you guys for all your likes and comments!

I´m slowly finding my way around all the new features and settings of MSFS and love it. Even with the standard edition, there are so many great aircraft and a whole world and its free updates to discover. Best thing as I´ve already mentioned is that my rather medium computer runs it very pleasantly with fine details. Guess I´ll never ever revert back to my other sims, as going low and slow is the best experience ever.

Kudos to Microsoft, Asobo and blackshark ai for that fine sim!

Welcome! Nice photo, took me a while to lift my jaw off the floor, after moving from P3D. Echo other comments here.

There's been a lot of moaning you will see on this forum - some with reason no doubt. But for me MSFS has been a blast (albeit far from 'perfect', with its creases and bumps) and many of these have already been, or are actively being dealt with. When I have the time I'm having the best flight sim experience I've ever had in SU10 b and DX12. I also had X plane v9-11, FS9, FSX and P3D v2-5. I've never looked back.

Stutter-free gate-to-gate in high detail, study (or near) level planes (I mean FBW, Fenix, PMDG, SWS Kodiak, C310) and incredible global scenery, rarely if ever have CTDs, and pretty smooth in many if not all, parts of the World. I waited 15 years for this...

Congratulations, duesenwerni...🙂...the treasure trove is waiting for you...have fun...!!
