August 24, 20223 yr Hello woal777, I have to agree with you, you are a bit "NOT" updated. You mentioned windows xbox, I'm assuming you are looking at purchasing from Windows Store? I would suggest purchasing from Steam. The Steam install would take care of a bunch of the operations needed, to keep MSFS updated. Which version would have to be your preference. It just depends on how much you wish to spend on on the extra "free" planes that you will probably never use. (that is my strictly my viewpoint). I chose the Standard version, one time pay. I have lost no sleep over not spending more money. Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-10700F CPU @ 2.90GHz (8 cores) Hyper on, Evga RTX 3060 12 Gig, 32 GB ram, Windows 11, P3D v6, and MSFS 2020 and a couple of SSD's

August 24, 20223 yr Welcome! If you already use Steam for other games, that might be a good place to buy. The MS Store version is fine as will since some issues with buying though there have been resolved. Still the Steam version is a bit less confusing since it lists only 3 versions, while the MS store also shows al the subscribtion-based versions. There are 3 versions, standard, deluxe and premium deluxe. The deluxe version has 5 extra aircraft and a number of handcrafted airports, the premium deluxe has 5 more aircraft and more handcrafted airports. AFAIK you will need to have an Xbox account for MSFS. Your settings and progress will be stored in the cloud with that account so whenever you re-install MSFS your settings should be restored from that. If you purchase addons through the Marketplace then these are also linked to that account. Have fun and please don't hesitate to ask. EDIT: I just noticed that Justflight is creating an improved version of the default Cessna 172 but you must have at least the deluxe version since it requires the Cessna 172 classic which is only in the deluxe and premium version. If you have a (good) PC I suggest the Premium Deluxe version on Steam. BTW the Game Pass subscription (for XBox or PC or both (Ultimate pass)) allows you to play not only the Standard version of MSFS but also many other games. As stated above, MSFS comes in three flavours. I bought the Standard version. Standard provides everything you might want, except for the additional airplanes/airports from the Deluxe versions. Do you have the required PC configuration? 16 GB of RAM, 8 GB of VRAM, and a decent (20Mbps+) internet connection.. Edited August 24, 20223 yr by Bert Pieke Bert
August 24, 20223 yr Welcome back to the hobby and to Avsim. I would strongly advise buying the program through Steam if you have an account there, or creating an account if you do not have one.
