Another Fenix A320 Hotfix has been released

Version 1.0.4.134, released on 2022-09-29
Changelog
[SYSTEM]
○    Adjusted custom low speed friction model to be slightly more fluid
○    Fixed incorrect air/ground mix factor causing irrecoverable nose down elevator after a bounced landing
○    Removed alpha-buffer pseudo-prot, causing issues with flare authority in certain conditions
[FM]
○    Adjusted spoiler efficacy
○    Improved suspension geometry and setup to reduce bouncing, absorbing more energy on touchdown and subsequently sitting lower on the ground
○    Added lift dumping to spoilers so the aircraft is more stable after touchdown in a crosswind
○    Improved aircraft's crosswind and weathervaning characteristics
○    Adjusted lateral tyre friction to prevent weight on wheels sideslip and/or unintended ice skating

Kind regards,
Hans van WIjhe

That's great! I had no idea 3PD's were capable of adjusting lateral tire friction! I need every 3PD to turn this value up 2000%!

I'm always fighting side-to-side pilot induced oscillations during departure. I feel like wheels in the sim aren't sticky enough and don't resist side-to-side movements as much as their real world counterparts, especially when doing 150 mph with 138,000 lbs of mass behind them. I often watch YouTube videos where active line Captains consistently rotate with a head-on view of the runway edge lights, and all I can think is, "Will somebody please give the wheels some adhesion!"

Edit: I actually stopped flying the default aircraft because the nose-wheel PIO during take-off and landing is unbearable. If someone could tell me how to dramatically increase lateral tire friction for the default aircraft, I'd be very grateful!

Take-offs are optional, landings are mandatory.
The only time you have too much fuel is when you're on fire.
To make a small fortune in aviation you must start with a large fortune.

There's nothing less important than the runway behind you and the altitude above you.
It's better to be on the ground wishing you were in the air, than in the air wishing you were on the ground.

You may try it yourself until your 3PD does his job, though results/feedback seem to vary. But that may be the case if one copies/pastes the FBW values like explained here

Thank you Phil! I'm gonna up the scalar's to 7 and see how it works in the pattern.

7 might even not produce any effect.

I would start by 1.5, at most 2.0

Flying gliders since 1980

Flightsimming since 1992

AMD Ryzen 5600x, 32GB RAM, GPU Nvidia RTX 3060 Ti 8 GB, 1 TB and 500 GB nvme2 SSD drives, HP 27" 60Hz LED monitor @ 1920x1080, T16000, Hotas from old X52 Pro, Saitek Combat Rudder Pro (2010 model)

So... what's the verdict regarding rw drift and swing when landing with x-wind wit this latest patch ?

Does autoland now manage to keep the aircraft on centerline from touchdown? Does it properly uncrab, which was not really a ground physics quirk but rather an automatic flight logic problem?

takeoff roll at KTPA much better already, curious about the landing at KBOS in about 1 hr.

BTW, did you guys know that the map feature in the Fenix EFB also works without Navigraph subscription? Well, I just found this by coincident when clicking through the options.

I did an Autoland last night with a 100 foot ceiling ( was going to do a regular landing, but runway never showed up) It was spot on, in the middle of the runway, and 400 FPM.

same just at KBOS, perfect landing and especially rolling, no veering and sliding. first check passed!

Same here, wunderful flight and a fine Landing and holding allmost perfect the center runway..

Now we need back the contrails and a Weather Rader even it is not that perfect ( RAW data ). Not perfect is better than nothing - IMO !

cheers 😉

I read this morning that they already have a fix for contrails and we should get another update next week..

Just did an autoland (weather was really too bad so I didn't see another option) with a 24 kts wind from the right. Landing was perfect.
