Malfunction opting out of BETA U11

Featured Replies

I decided to not be part of this beta right away after being in the U10.

So I opted out and restarted computer per instructions and then when starting FS from Xbox app, it updated to the Beta 11 anyway. I flew a flight no problems at all with the new Cockspure C510.

The next time I started FS it did a new install (actually went back to 10) and then nothing worked. When going to World Map it was pink and weird green yellow with no possibility to pick an aircraft or start a flight.

So I quit, main menu worked OK. And I went back and opted in to U11 Beta. Install went fine and now everything is back to working well, so I will stay with beta. Did 2 flights with C510 all working perfectly. I will fly some more today.

I have posted a report in the FS BETA forum as well.

I see one other user had the same problem happen on opting out.

So this is a real bug, be aware if opting out you may not be able to just go back to 10.

But everything seems fine one back in BETA.😄

Exact same experience for me. Tried a couple of time to resolve it but in the end it was a full reinstall for me. Took all night but that’s ok because I sleep at night!😎

Im now back on SU10 and will remain so until the bugs in SU11 that are affecting Fenix and PMDG aircrafts are identified and resolved.

Same happened to me. I forgot to uncheck 'Beta' in Steam after the SU10 beta.  I have been working on an airport rebuild with the SDK and when I started last night I got the Beta update...oops.  I tried to revert and got the same map screen and unable to select aircraft/airport, etc.  So I went back to Beta and that it where I sit currently.  Hopefully I can find a way to get back to SU10 as I do not want to participate in this one for now....

I am just going to stay with the BETA, so far it is flawless. Currently flying C510 KPWM - CYYT, first leg on hop to Europe.

Hope you don't mind but I linked your post and stole your picture to create a thread on the official forums. We need to have this resolved.

I had to a full reinstall after leaving SU10 beta.  Even though I waited for the final release before leaving the beta.  Luckily I use addon linked and I didn't have to do much for my payware and addons.  But still was not a fun experience.  As a result my new policy is no more beta for msfs.

Yeah...I might be learning my lesson with this one as I accidentally left the 'Beta' option checked in Steam..  Odd thing is that I followed the advice a long time ago to keep your directories outside the default location as that was supposed to prevent the reinstallation.  That technique does not seem to have helped me this time.  Are you using the Steam version?  I am hesitant to go through a full uninstall/reinstall...

After every stable release i always back up the One Folder to a SSD, as the risks in using Beta can (The current SU11 being a prime example) end up with a re-installation on occasion. Given time i have every confidence they will sort the issues, and again it will be a good release, and further step forward for the sim. Just a it of pain to endure just now.

I started one as well and someone else did too, they all got consolidated:

This has borked my game too. Has anyone put together a good guide for a clean reinstall?

I have so many apps connected to the sim and a packed community folder, I'm worried about having to start from scratch.
