October 14, 20223 yr One definition or sign of madness is repeating an operation or action over and over again, expecting a different outcome, despite all evidence to the contrary. (I am not a psychiatrist or therapist. This is only my layman's understanding) The point I am trying to make is that almost every day I log onto this or other P3D websites, including LM's, waiting for an announcement or even a hint about P3D v6. It never happens, yet I log on again, and again, and again. By definition, I must be stark raving mad. Sherm
October 14, 20223 yr I wouldn't call it madness, just anticipation. Since June I've been waiting for 5.4 to drop so I could install it on my freshly reinstalled rig. But by September, nine months after 5.3 release and given what was happening with the other big two, I accepted that the 5.x branch was done and any work on it was likely transferred to the 6.x branch. That said, the gap between 3.4 and 4.0, then 4.5 and 5.0 tells me November this year to May next year would be the typical release window. But like you, I keep checking these and the prepar3d forums ever so often just to make sure when the homepage updates, I'll be there to scope it out.

October 14, 20223 yr @ Everyone: you all ought to know by now that L-M never ever gives out any news about upcoming fixes and/or releases. It will be there when it is there, not before. That is how they have always done it, and I have seen no indication that they are starting anything different now. Jorgen
October 14, 20223 yr One thing that would be nice to have with P3D is error reporting and log files, so that it's possible to see what is going on under the hood when things aren't performing. I'm not so worried about streaming scenery, as I don't want to rely on or pay for a scenery streaming service. I suspect future updates will very much be aimed at the commercial customer base but that's OK with me. A few tweaks to enhanced atmospherics would also be welcome to improve the visuals.

October 14, 20223 yr Well, unless someone hacked LM's prepar3d website, it looks like v6 will be in Beta soon. I'm beginning to believe that v6 will open the door to satellite imagery based terrain and image-based rendering of buildings and vegetation like MSFS. Not saying this feature will be fully functional at first, but that the capability will be incorporated and perhaps accessible via an experimental mode. The folks at LM must know that this type of scenery rendering is the future, so I'm optimistic that they've begun work on it. On the other hand, we may just get some UI changes, new AA modes, and some EA and volumetric cloud improvements. That would be a bit disappointing, but not altogether bad either. October 14, 20223 yr Just now, simbol said: that Link is fake That's odd, because earlier it took me to a page asking for a password. Now I get a 404 page doesn't exist error. Dave Ok, so no v6 beta. The rest of what I said is still valid, however, for me at least.🙂 Dave Simulator: P3Dv6.1 System Specs: Intel i7 13700K CPU, MSI Mag Z790 Tomahawk Motherboard, 32GB DDR5 6000MHz RAM, Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070 Video Card, 3x 1TB Samsung 980 Pro M.2 2280 SSDs, Windows 11 Home OS My website for P3D stuff: https://sites.google.com/view/thep3dfiles/home
