Finally fixed my blurry gauges

Featured Replies

Here's what I get with resolution 4k, DLSS Auto which is actually 1920x1080. I used active pause to take the screenshots.

The shot without DLSS is definitely more clear (that's the one with the lower FPS) but getting 60 FPS for more blurry instruments is a trade off I'm willing to make.

RobJC, what's your monitor native resolution?

I don’t think this issue really impacts 4k based on videos i have seen. Definitely 1440p and possibly 1080p, but things sharpen up once you go higher than 1440p.

I look at the G1000 on my main monitor and then at this forum page on my left hand monitor and the difference is so minor it makes no difference to me at all. It's slightly, slightly less clear on a digital gauge compared to an analogue one, as it would be in a real aircraft.

I'm at 3840 x 2160 so maybe that makes a big difference but I have no need to change anything.

Your resolution must be high enough to mitigate this problem. I think 1440 and lower is where the issue begins.

Give it a shot. I think so.

Would I need to change the PrimaryScalingVR, SecondaryScalingVR, and SharpenAmountVR instead?

What's interesting is if you take screenshots with active pause on after toggling DLSS and then flip back and forth between the images in full screen with an image viewer like IrfanView the differences become more apparent. Outside view looks almost the same, analog instruments are a little more blurry but the flat screens are noticeably more blurry and darker.

Try it. Just back up the file first.

One other thing i have noticed is the elimination of shimmering and jaggies. I am going to try reducing some settings in Nvidia Control Panel and MSFS to see if i still even need them.

These hidden options need to be part of the UI.

Tried it; there was a clarity improvement but an immense frame rate penalty

Many thanks for that hint!

Well I have turned down the nvidia cp settings and msfs settings around sharpening, antialiasing, anisotropic filtering, etc. and the screen looks the same. Still testing.

This is a brand new sim. Have FSLTL running and everything looks amazing. No jaggies. No shimmering. Very smooth. Finally.

Maybe you can share the settings you adjusted for others to try
