I have been struggling to get crisp gauges while still maintaining solid frame rates. Running DX12 and DLSS resulted in solid FPS and smooth gameplay, but it came at the cost of not having sharp gauges. Even if I selected TAA I was still not able to get crisp gauges. In Nvidia Control Panel selecting DSR Factors made things a bit sharper, but it wasn't crisp enough. Thanks to a post on Reddit I was able to finally get the visual quality I was looking for. Look at the last post bySvennoJ.

I changed the following...

{PostProcess
Enabled 1
EyeAdaptation 1
Sharpen 1

PrimaryScaling 0.50
SecondaryScaling 2.0000
SharpenAmount 2.000000

With Real-Time Traffic using the Black Square Caravan, I was able to get significantly better image quality without tanking my FPS.

Mine looks totally different (with no changes)

{PostProcess
        Enabled 1
        EyeAdaptation 1
        ColorGrading 1
        Sharpen 1
        Fringe 1
        LensDistortion 0
        Dirt 1
        LensFlare 0
        FilmGrain 1
        Vignette 1
        LensBlurMultiplier 1.000000
        FringeMultiplier 1.000000
    }

So I don't understand what you did change/add.

That looks fine. Now find the following in another section...

PrimaryScaling 0.50
SecondaryScaling 2.0000
SharpenAmount 2.000000

Don't edit the VR section, but the non VR one. Should be right below PostProcess section, but it will depend on the graphics card you have. Click the link I provided for more info.

Wow - thanks for posting that link, Rob - it's an eye-opener!!! I never could get DLSS to give me a crisp cockpit display but this has solved it. I can now spend more time running DX12 - and see whether it's all worth it LOL!

Thanks to the OP for starting this thread - it will be useful.

I love DLSS at 4k due to the performance significant benefits, but I do suffer with blurry flat screens, not so much other instruments, but I will give this a go anyway.

It seems to be the secondary scaling that is doing it, as this is normally set at 1.  I wish Asobo would issue a description of what ALL of the settings do in the user config file (some of them are obvious), but I guess they don't want us messing too much.

There are some useful settings though.  I have my shadows set at 6144, and they are lovely and sharp (you can't go this high with the in sim sliders).
Plus I turn off the horrible fringe effect for the hangar.

Rob (but call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind).

I like to trick airline passengers into thinking I have my own swimming pool in my back yard by painting a large blue rectangle on my patio.

Before I start blowing up my system do these settings (the Pos X and Y) impact those of us running in 2560 x 1440 as well?

Thanks in advance.

Does this fix also fix gauge bluriness for VR users?

Give it a shot. I think so.

Thank you so much for this!! Finally I can use DLSS with FBW A32NX and not to worry about crappy blurry numbers. This also fixed the odd behavior of the numbers on the autopilot.  Now I just have to decide, which DLSS setting is the best to use...

For those people who find DLSS too blurry do you run at 1440p or 1080p?

To my eyes DLSS on 4k looks okay, not quite as sharp as TAA but it looks noticeably more blurry if I set my resolution to 1440p or 1080p.

I look at the G1000 on my main monitor and then at this forum page on my left hand monitor and the difference is so minor it makes no difference to me at all. It's slightly, slightly less clear on a digital gauge compared to an analogue one, as it would be in a real aircraft.

I'm at 3840 x 2160 so maybe that makes a big difference but I have no need to change anything.
