iniBuilds A310 first impressions

Recommended Posts

So first and foremost, if you have feedback you want iniBuilds to read about their A310, you can do it here.  I don't think iniBuilds reads Avsim, so don't expect your complaints to be read by iniBuilds here at Avsim. Alternatively, if you are on the iniBuilds Discord, they will probably read your feedback on Discord too.

Having said that, my first impression is that the iniBuilds A310 is an FPS killer.  I get 40 to 45 FPS around Vancouver with the PMDG 737-800. I am using the FSimStudio CYVR, and I play at 1920x1080 resolution, most settings at Ultra, with a few settings like Render Scale at 100, TLOD at 200.  With the iniBuilds A310, I get like 25 FPS, far lower than the PMDG 737-800.  I did not download the enhancement pack for the iniBuilds A310 in the MSFS marketplace (I imagine if you are using the enhancement pack, the FPS is probably worse).  My computer specs are in my signature.

Feel free to post your first impressions here of the iniBuilds A310. But remember, if you want your feedback to be heard by iniBuilds, post at the official MSFS forum in the thread that I linked above, or just tell iniBuilds in their Discord channel.

Edit: Thanks for @Zangoose for linking the thread in the iniBuilds Discord for reporting FPS issues: https://discord.com/channels/535246634448191499/1040680517688889414. If you report FPS issues in that Discord thread, iniBuilds is asking you to post screenshots of your graphics settings, and also tell them your PC specs (ie. graphics card, CPU, RAM).

Ya apart from the MSFS forums, probably even better to directly post on the iniBuilds forums or discord:

Their new MSFS A310 forum and subsections: https://forum.inibuilds.com/forum/259-a310-300-for-microsoft-flight-simulator/

I also have the same opinion about the frame rates. For example - in the 737 I am able to get a solid 60fps in OIIE in the A310 it drops to an average of 32fps. I have updated to the latest GPU drivers so hopefully that will help but I am unable to see at the moment because of the server issue.

Yes a fps killer. I get 60 fps with the fenix and same scenario 45 with A310

Oh no, what a shame..  The PMDG is the benchmark for performance and I hope this doesn't lack as badly as you guys suggest

They have a thread about FPS on their discord where they are asking for specs and other details. Direct link: https://discord.com/channels/535246634448191499/1040680517688889414 if you want to input your own details.

I am going to guess that after several updates (which may take several months), iniBuilds may be able to get the performance of the A310 up to the level of the Fenix A320.

But yeah, the PMDG 737 is the gold standard for performance for a study level airliner.

In my usual test scenario (KJFK 31L overcast with lots of traffic) I have around 25-30 fps with my 4090. With frame generation, I can reach around 55fps. Pretty heavy bird but also beautiful!

While update 12 is downloading with my slow connection I am halfway through the videos on how to fly the a310 on my pad. It does not look like there is a way to auto import navigraph flight plans. Am I wrong?

I like how it flies - I have to read up on the MCDU or whatever it's called.  Not into Airbus much.

Even on my 12700K it eats FPS for breakfast.  I was flying in rural areas around 25-30 fps.  Can't imagine heavy payware and clouds.

Normal, if you are downloading the SU12 must goes slowly because you must download at the same time as they make the code.

jokes apart, I think never flown an aircraft reading before the manuals, after read what say all the buttons or test or can´t do something or what mean anything, then yes, I go to the manual, or maybe look first in Google haha.

Abrams, check out 737NG Driver currently streaming the A310, he just said his frame rates are only slightly worse than with the PMDG 737 or Fenix. So far he's really liking it. Need  to see more of course but wondering if FPS reductions like yours are specific to certain set of conditions. In any case good that ini are taking machine config details to investigate further. I'm away from home and won't be able to test myself until next week but given the server overload issues maybe that's best 🙂
