Apparently they're selling them now but l the shops I use are sold out already?!  

Forget it Nvidia.  And the price is ridiculous.

Another shambolic roll out from Nvidia and all of their partners and retail chains. 

What till AMD hit`s the shops likely be the same sold out, And you may be lucky to find one at MSRP.

MSFS at the end DLSS bumps it too over 90fps

With what I'm seeing I feel like I may as well jump up to the 4090 rather than the 4080...whenever I can find one not at a huge markup that is.

As for the price here is the problem whatever the price they fly off the shelves,

And AMD may have the same problem as retailers now know whatever the markup people will buy them, 2 Grand for a 3090Ti and still they sold.

Lots of reports on Reddit of 4080s in stock at many retailers. So I think people are smartly avoiding this card. It’s not good value. If you can afford a $1200USD graphics card, you can probably also afford the 4090 or just save a bit more for it.

In the UK the 4090 is £1,800 for cheapest if you can find one in stock and some over £2,000, and some may need a new PSU.

You can expect the same when AMD launch the new GPUs.

According to Moore's Law, while there may not be many on 12/13, by the first week of January,there will be lots -- see

I guess my point was that if you can afford the 4080 at £1,300-1,500, what's another few hundred for the 4090?... either one is basically an admission that money is no object when it comes to your graphics card - just get the best.
