Yes - yet another "Offline/Disconnect" server topic

Recommended Posts

I suspect this may get deleted by the Avsim mods (understandably so) ... but I'm just so sick and tired of these *constant* server disconnects. I thought they'd be sorted for SU9, then Su10 ... now Su11 and this utter lunacy persists.

If nothing else, then Asobo could at least recode things so that photogrammetry is automatically re-enabled when the connection is remade. Re-selecting it manually from the menu is time-consuming as the cache has to be rebuilt.

It has to be the single most irritating thing about MSFS. If the MS servers can't cope (and not likely to be fixed soon) then why can't some latency/redundancy be built into the sim?

Same goes for live weather (if set) and correct time setting.

It's pretty bad this morning here. I keep getting switched to offline mode.

Personally my most frustrating issue with the sim right now. A lot can be overlooked, but being forced offline in a game dependent on streaming scenery and live weather is _____.

Take-offs are optional, landings are mandatory.
The only time you have too much fuel is when you're on fire.
To make a small fortune in aviation you must start with a large fortune.

There's nothing less important than the runway behind you and the altitude above you.
It's better to be on the ground wishing you were in the air, than in the air wishing you were on the ground.

Aren't they addressing this with the current SU11 beta for the SU 11 update to update so to speak? I thought that was in the beta notes?

I've been offline the last three days.   I thought it was a problem on my end.  Good to at least know it isn't just me.

Even if they put in the beta notes, I don't personally think these connections issues are/will be related to any update. It's something mostly related to their congested (MS) servers. The player numbers of this title have increased to a double size within the last year.

I appreciate that ... so (I repeat) why can't they build in some redundancy in MSFS to get around that?

Maybe we should post this (or maybe it was posted already) on the MSFS Official Forums. I've been using their twitter account to let them know each time the connection issues arise and, as far as I can see, there are lots of people complaining very frequently about this.

Does anyone using the beta have a connection problem?

Yes. If only the disconnected message could be more subtle. It really does not have to appear in the middle of the screen. Or require user input. I wish it could just be put in a corner, and when connection re-establishes online services are automatically turned back on.

Hmm...I don't have the annoying notice.  It just has the marketplace greyed out and it says I'm offline in dropdown.   It's ugly reminder of how beautiful game is when online.
