Block Island to Syracuse NY (Part 1)

Featured Replies

This was a great trip from Block Island KBID to KSYR in the lovely Black Square analog kingair.  I also picked up two Verticalsim airports:  Syracuse and Omaha, NE during their sale.  About 10 USD each - a great deal.  Both are really nice.  I will do a few extra screenshots upon landing and Part 2 of this series.

This is a stunning livery by Waffler over at flightsim.to as well.  I waited for a brief storm to pass and then we were underway.  The flight is mostly direct at FL220.

BID is a short runway checkout that nice contour.  Scenery by Gaya Simulations. (also highly recommend).

You can see the VOR on the field here - BID has traditional VOR and GPS approaches

Beautiful flight and shots Ryan.  I remember back in the old days on an Apple II in one of the first iterations of flight sim with the real maps they provided, remember those?  I'd make NDE flights and land there all day long as practice for NDE and VOR navigation.  The good old days.

Thanks Jack.  Yes the first time I really started learning VOR and navigation was with my dad in the FS98 Lear and maybe the 737-400 if they had that.  Can't remember what version had the -400

I'm running 1440p (recently got VR headset but it's clear I need a new GPU hehe).  So in 2d mostly ultra settings.  A few settings are on high and some lower numbers for those settings with values.  I guess I've collected a bit of freeware and payware for the New England area.  I enjoy flying out here.  Heard it's pretty busy airspace irl.  They'd likely not give me direct hehe.

very nice shots indeed!

All my FSX/P3D repaints are here on Avsim, for my MSFS repaints, go to FS.2

I really love this set Ryan, very lifelike.

I Have a question for you.

How or what mod are you using to get the prop disks so clear. It looks awesome and pretty realistic.

I've tried a couple of different mods to get the same effect, but mine still look a little too opaque.

I use a mod found at Sim Outhouse.  It's in their file library.  You'll need an account but it's free.  It's by Jim Goldman (of the old FSD International group)
